Perfectly Pink #Etsy

As I have been falling behind on fulfilling my duties to team mates by doing a few treasuries I decided to catch up a bit today.
One of the treasuries was for the British Crafters Shop Of The Week. The chosen shop for this week is Leanne Woods Designs.
This is what Leanne`s bio says:
Hi, my name is Leanne and you've found my little slice of Etsy here at Leanne Woods Designs. I am a full time designer/maker and life long crafter and call the creative and craft loving Ards Peninsula my home where I live with my husband, daughter, one very large guinea pig (always mistaken for a rabbit) and our slightly odd one eyed cat who thinks she's a dog.
I have a little studio in my home that sort of overlooks the water if I stand on a chair with my head out the window. I don't do that too often though.
I love to sew and enjoy sourcing (read - shopping for) local fabrics made in the UK although sometimes it's hard to resist the occasional yard or two from elsewhere. I make the things I enjoy most from bags and purses, through home-wares and decorations and, having a tech mad husband and daughter, gadget cases too.

Leanne has a wonderful variety to browse in her busy shop, with seasonal as well as regular items. Always worth while returning to look at what`s new as Leanne continually brings out more creations proving how much she loves to create.

I was feeling rather weary
but now I`m feeling cheery.
The main work is nearly done
soon be time to have some fun.
Fun is making something new,
I always need something to do.
Ideas rush through my head,
keep me awake when I`m in bed.
Not enough hours in a day,
would be 48 if I had my way.
I`d like to be making all day long,
then I`d always be singing a song.
It would be a joyful song of my heart,
that some days barely gets a start.
Let`s face it though, it wouldn`t be life
without there being a bit of strife.

Pink & Purple #Etsy

Starting to get a bit bored with the whole colour thing but I`ll keep going for now and see what happens. Might just get to the end and then have a week or two`s break from the blogging. It is very time consuming, time that at the minute could be put to better use with all the to do list of things piling up.
But as we all know I`ve said that before and then all has gone back to normal. I shall have to seriously consider cutting back though, a daily blog is taking way too much time. Or maybe I should just do a catch up in between on what I`m doing. Hmmmm....
Anyway, I`ve digressed already and I`ve barely started. Back to it. The colour alphabet has reached P. Let me think, off the top of my head peach, pink, plum and purple. Although plum is a shade of purple really. Peach is an orange, which we just had, although it`s more of a pastel than the bright colours of the other day.
We all know I love purple, so perhaps I`ll go for pink and purple...... Yes that seems like a plan.

Mentor Month SALE #Etsy

No colour alphabet today. Instead This is all about the celebration for the end of Mentor Month on Etsy. For those that don`t know, I have been taking part in Mentor Month with some of my British Crafters team mates, as well as members of other teams in conjunction with Etsy. This is a trial, I believe, to help members of Etsy who are interested in improving their shop`s appearance as well as descriptions, titles, SEO etc, with the ultimate aim of improving sales.
It was hard work for everyone but was great to exchange ideas and being a month long was good to keep you focussed on continuing with the improvements.
I find I have a tendency to think to myself, I`ll do that later when I have more time, and then of course it doesn`t happen.
Each week we focussed on different areas to be worked on which was also good as again it kept the focus going for that week. Then of course different people would put on the mentor month forum how they had got on and what they learned from it. I found this very useful as everyone sees things differently. 6 people could look at the same piece of information and each would pick out what they saw as relevant or interpret it in their own way. Great for seeing different viewpoints.

Orange & Onyx #Folksy

We are onto O already in this colour alphabet. I had a few choices but decided to go with Orange and Onyx, which is of course black in colour. So essentially we have orange and black.
I`ve been writing down a few colours for different letters but think I will come unstuck on Q. All I can think of is quartz which isn`t exactly a colour. So if anyone can come up with something that would be great, if not I shall have to skip that one which will be a shame. Unless of course I go for clear things as quartz is clear. Hmmm.... it is a possibility but I shall have to have a good look first.
So we have orange and Onyx/Black from Folksy today. I`m telling you in case you didn`t guess from the title.

Yesterday I was busy making cupcakes or flowers from crocheted cotton wash cloths and soap bags. I put some of them into silicone cups and they looked rather cute, even if I do say so myself.
Then of course they had to be photographed, which then meant a couple of hours photo editing. Aaaaaarrrrggggh!!
I shall have earned the many coffees I will be drinking today with a very good friend. It will be wonderful to be doing absolutely nothing for a few hours, except relaxing, talking and drinking coffee and tea, maybe the odd cold drink too. Ahhhhhh!

Trying to think of something witty
but my thoughts are not pretty.
Tired and weary, it`s been a long day
there`s not been any time for play.
Been on the computer quite a bit
and now I`m very tired of it.
Winding down, time for relaxing
not going to do anything taxing.
Working on a pattern for a Scoodie
or maybe that should be a hoodie.
Lot`s of ideas buzzing in my mind,
just never enough time I find.
Always so much I want to make
but everything else seems to take
so long, all the necessary stuff
finding time for making is tough.
I want to create, set my ideas free
because that is the essence of me!!

Neon Fun #Etsy

Ready for some more colour alphabet fun after the weekend break? I think you`ll enjoy today`s because it is great fun. You may, however, need sunglasses.
We have got as far as the letter N. I was going to go for Navy as well as Neon but there were so many gorgeous Neon items I decided to make it all Neon. I know that strictly speaking Neon in itself isn`t a colour, more of a group of colours, but for the purposes of this blog it will do just fine. Sort of a poetic licence thingie, if that makes sense, or even if it doesn`t.
We went to London for the weekend to visit our daughter and son in law. My hubby was doing the things he`d been given as 60th birthday presents. A trip up the Shard, a walk over the top of the Dome and a cable car ride across the river. Big shudder to all of those, you wouldn`t get me doing any of them, but he loved it. We had a dinner out too, wonderful river walks and a visit on the Golden Hinde ship.
A wonderful weekend, oh and they led us astray by teaching us poker, which I have to say was great fun. A brilliant weekend all round.

Here we have some neon yellow
have to say it`s not very mellow.
A brighter than bright neon pink
bet that will get more than a wink.
So vivid and bright the neon green,
that`s the brightest I`ve ever seen.
Orange and red, a bit of blue
I found more than a few.
Shining bright, glow in the dark,
even clip on hair for a lark.
Varnish to make your nails glow
try it and get in the flow.
Art that will light up your life,
maybe give as a gift to your wife.
