Random Treasures #Handmade #Folksy

Thought I would do Random creations that I find on Folksy for today. I look through all the newer listings and include items that catch my eye. Ones that, for me, seem to stand out. Hope you like them too.
I am preparing these blogs in advance so that I can spend more time with my family over this weekend. As I said yesterday I shall be busy cooking all morning and chatting too of course. Regular readers will know how unlike me that is...well maybe that`s a fib, possibly the biggest ever as I can waffle on for ever. I just think any task goes faster if you have someone to chat to and help with the fiddly stuff like putting sausages on sticks and cheese and pineapple etc.
I shall still be sneaking in a bit of crochet when I get the chance as I`m not sure I could even have a complete weekend without doing at least a little. My home will look very odd though as I shall have to tidy away all the bags of half finished projects from beside the sofa. Although to be fair they aren`t intrusive, just the one I leave on the sofa that I am currently making is.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Spring brings the rising sap
makes some get in a flap.
Summer is long lazy days
passing in a warm haze.
Autumn brings a bit of change
as it shows off it`s range
of extremes from warm to chill
the colours giving all a thrill.
But winter is usually cold
sports then for the very bold.
Slicing through the crisp snow
with rosy cheeks all a glow.
Contrasts with long dark nights
offset by frost sparkling bright.
Each season changes as time marches on
and continues until the earth is done.
But for now we are in clover
enjoying summer till it is over.
The variable British summer weather
that pushes us to the end of our tether.
We can`t make plans in advance
unless we`re ready to take the chance,
of it all changing from dry to wet
in the wink of an eye and yet
without it what would we say
not much more than Good Day!

Foxes #FolksyFriday

The first Folksy Friday in August. On the front page of Folksy I spotted various foxes and wondered if their would be enough to fill my blog. So off I went and put foxes into the search box and lo and behold there were. I have to say that it still amazes me, even after all this time, what there is available in any given subject.
I like to see foxes, or any wild creature and think it`s a shame that they have to scavenge for food in towns and suburbs because their own habitat is being taken away.
Been a bit under the weather, so haven`t had the energy or inclination to do anymore on the Pinata. I was going to try finishing it yesterday but the torrential rain put me off. Hopefully I will have a chance today in between preparing for visitors over the weekend. I shall be cooking a large piece of beef and another of gammon today, ready for the party on Saturday. Then on Saturday morning I will be busy making quiches etc for the afternoon.
My grandson will be 5 yrs old on Monday and will be having a party with his friends then, but on Saturday we are having a family party to celebrate. Hence the Pinata making. They could probably have a game beforehand of guessing what it`s meant to be, or even making up a name for it... Now there`s an idea. It does look strange and it`s not finished yet. I have been taking a few pictures as I went along, so you will be able to laugh at them. I shall put them on here, probably on Monday. Although it may put you off making anything at all.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

The saying is `wily as a fox`
I`d rahter think outside the box.
How about `a fox looks cute`?
with a lovely tail to boot!
Now they are becoming urbanised
as their habitat is re-sized.
Soon the countryside will be gone
by the time the builders are done.
Where will the foxes go then
with no place to build a den?
In town`s they look so hungry and thin
scavenging from any convenient bin.
But now the bin lids are tight
but they still try with all their might.
Seeing a wild creature gives me a thrill
and I think it probably always will.
Will future children see such a sight?
Not if we don`t put things right.
Many houses stand empty and sad,
officeblocks too and that is bad.
Many have been that way for years,
totally unwanted, or so it appears.
Use them instead of taking more land,
why they can`t I don`t understand.
Leave land for wild creatures to survive
I for one would rather see them live
than just some thing in a picture book
at which you can only wonder and look!

New Shops #Handmade #Folksy

Time for the new shops to have a chance at being seen today. It`s hard enough being new without feeling invisible as well. I didn`t have a clue when I started and I had lots of help and advice from fellow Folksiers, I probably drove them daft with my endless questions. Looking back now and realising how amazingly little I knew about this on-line world I`m surprised I sold anything at all. I think the main thing was that I was willing to learn and ready to put the effort into it.
Seeing how many new shops have appeared since I last looked I have realised that by only including them every so often I am missing quite a lot of them. So I think I will try to remember to show new shops more often, maybe even once a week.
Let`s see... what did I do yesterday? Went to work. I did however finish the christmas hat I was working on and was pleased with the result. That will probably appear on my website first. I actually made notes as I went along so I can make a few of them. The notes are never exact though so there will still be variations in them. I have even been considering attacking the `to finish` pile. It`s daft really some of them only need a button or ties and yet they sit there. Maybe I need a finishing fairy, someone who will magically do those jobs I don`t like doing, especially sewing on the buttons. It has quite a ring to it doesn`t it: `Finishing Fairy`.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

A finishing fairy is what I need
I really do, oh yes indeed.
The pile for finishing keeps growing
especially while the muse is flowing.
New ideas come thick and fast,
have to use them while they last.
So the little things that would finish off
just don`t get done, no, don`t scoff!
I think I really need some help
before my hubby starts to yelp.
He`ll end up covered in my stuff
and that would be pretty rough
on him as he doesn`t complain,
although he`d have nothing to gain.
Much more to lose I would say
as I would be grumpy then all day.
I really don`t need the hassle
especially when I`m making a tassle.
Concentration is the key
well it certainly is for me.
I think I`ve been waffling on,
what a shocker, but now I`m done.
So Finishing Fairy come visit me
I am very deserving, (I think), you see!
