More Rainbows #Folksy #Etsy

I know it was rainbows yesterday, but they looked so gorgeous I though I would bring you some more. There`s just something about a rainbow that speaks volumes to many people.
They are definitely a favourite of mine, I love them. The size, the shape, the glow, the beauty and most of all the feeling of magic each one brings. It always seems that the world is full of wonderful endless possibilities when a rainbow arcs through the sky. Or maybe that`s just me.
Yesterday we had another glorious day after a dull start and the temperature is starting to warm too. We may yet have a summer, with warmth and everything.
I had my grandson while my daughter was at work and he got it into his head that he wanted a Darth Vader figure from Star Wars. We did eventually find one and he was thrilled. One very happy little boy. He didn`t even mind the various jobs I had to do and things I needed to get for my holiday, bless him.
This blog will remain while I am away. Unlikely anyone else in the household will take it into their heads to write one.

your favourite one that has zest.

whichever one looks best to you.
Indigo and violet complete the set.
They are the main ones and yet
so many more colours and shades
as each one merges and fades
into the next to add to the glow
of a fabulous, wondrous rainbow!!

Rainbows #Etsy

I`ve been doing some rainbow paintings lately as a background for my Inspirational Art. I really love the colours and the effects, doing them in circles and ovals. They make a beautiful and vibrant background to the words and verses.
I`ve also started doing some personalised children`s pictures too. I do think it`s very important that a child`s imagination is stimulated, first with colour from a baby and then with words too as they get older. With today`s lifestyles many children don`t get the opportunity to develop their imagination. Then what will happen in the future, where will the innovators and inventors be?
Anyway, I`m waffling. The point is that doing the painting`s had me thinking continuously of rainbow`s, to the point when I decided that others should share this obsession. So I went exploring to see what rainbows I could find on Etsy. I just love seeing page after page of rainbows, it`s wonderful and amazing to see the diversity of crafts available too.

For a little time magic was in the air
a huge rainbow was hanging out there.
A rainbow, tall, bright and glowing
all the jewel like colours flowing
Red, orange, yellow and green
the most vibrant you have ever seen.
Blue, indigo and violet too
such an array of colour just for you.
For so many it lights a fire
of amazing creativity to inspire
and lifts us to a greater height
motivated by the wondrous sight.
Rainbows only stay for a while
so enjoy the magic with a smile.
Make a wish and hold it tight
as you watch the rainbow bright!!!

New Baby #Etsy

Amazingly yesterday was sunny again. Still a chilly breeze but it did seem to be a degree or two warmer.
In the morning I looked after my 4 year old grandson for a while and he decided we should make cakes. He had great fun helping with the mixing and even more fun licking the wooden spoon afterwards. He kept a very careful eye on it while it was cooking and couldn`t wait for it to be ready. We were about to ice it as my daughter arrived, so she waited while it was done and he liberally added sprinkles. Bless him.

June Jewels #Folksy

Today we have, drum roll please........ Ta Da!!!! The June Jewels this months daily listing club on Folksy. This intrepid band support each other with cheers and commiserations and by promoting each others work. They are also a supportive group, offering advice and help where needed, encouraging new sellers and generally just being there.
Regular readers already know that Natalie of NOfkants Curios runs the listing club with precision efficency. It takes a lot of work but she is there every day, encouraging, chatting and keeping the tally of sales. It continues to keep going and though it`s not as busy this time of year with holidays and school holidays, it will be much busier after the summer.
Well yesterday was traumatic. I had to go clothes shopping, not something I have much patience with anymore. Because my thyroid has been on a go slow I have gained weight so I went through my wardrobe discarding all that didn`t fit and anything I hadn`t worn for a long time. That was most of my wardrobe. The local charity shop was thrilled but me not so much as I needed clothes to go on holiday. It took about 4 hours in different locations but now I shan`t be running around naked. Not a pretty sight.

The sun is out the sky is blue,
I`m hoping it`s the same for you.
Sunny days but a night time chill,
that in June, doesn`t thrill.
You know what is the thing?
It feels much more like spring.
We should have a warm velvety night
with twinkling stars quite a sight.
There should be warm balmy days
and maybe even a heat haze.
We have lot`s of summer green
leaves so lush with a healthy sheen.
But that wind from the North East
now that`s proving to be a beast.
We need a nice Southerly breeze
not a howling gale to freeze.
Come on Mother Nature, get your skates on,
be quick before the summer months are gone!!
