Time for Tea #Folksy Friday.

I wanted to do something a bit different today for a change. I thought about it for a while, then I looked at Folksy`s front page and an idea was born.
The front page was covered in cosy`s, mainly tea cosies, so I wondered if there would be more tea related items available. I put tea into the search and bingo!! Lots more than I expected and more variety than I expected, so I was delighted.
I hope you enjoy all these tea related creations I have discovered for you today.
Yesterday I was busy doing all sorts of errand as I am going away today to visit family in Milton Keynes. As usual hubby will still be here as he has to work and would probably get bored anyway while we talk endlessly about every subject under the sun.
I had a trip into the city and managed to avoid anything remotely craft related. I was tempted to go and look but very wisely didn`t. Did some food shopping too so hubby has some food to eat while I am gone. I`m not sure but he might be looking forward to the peace and quiet while I`m gone. Plus everywehere will be tidier as there won`t be creations lying about in various stages of making.
Always seems pointless to put them away as I`ll only get them out again. Plus with some they might get overlooked and I`ll end up with a big finishing pile.....Again!
Enough aimless chat, it`s time to do the rhyme.

I think it must be time for tea,
check the clock and then we`ll see.
Does it have to be a special time?
No way in the world, it`s anytime.
I drink endless, mostly green
but occasionally others are seen
in my cup, the one that`s mine
old and ancient, but still fine.
Lemon and ginger, that`s nice
but one cup will suffice.
Green tea with raspberry, smells fine
and the taste is, well, just divine.
Ordinary tea is not for me
I can`t drink milk you see.
But hubby drinks it with delight,
very strong and dark, what a sight.
Four cups in the morning to start
me going, then more, not far apart.
I can`t survive without my tea
I drink every cup with great glee!!

Egyptian Scarabs #Etsy

I did a treasury for Craft Britannia`s Shop of the Week and thought I would share these gorgeous creations with you.
The week`s shop is axevictimus. The owner, Tony, clearly loves creating with hard woods. It shows in the quality of his work. Do pop along to his shop and have a browse if you get the chance, it`s well worth a visit.
I browsed through his shop after looking through all the treasuries already done. What really drew me most of all was the necklace with the scarab beetle on it. I always think of Egypt when I see a scarab beetle.
I have a bracelet made in Egypt with scarab beetles all around it that belonged to my mother. As a young woman in the Womens Air Force she was stationed in Egypt and fell in love with it. She loved the country and anything to do with Egypt and bought the bracelet there, hence the association.
So having decided on which piece to use I looked for more scarab beetles on Etsy and was totally amazed by the amount I found. The first sixteen came from the treasury and the other two were extra additions. I hope you enjoy this today as much as I enjoyed it.

A scarab beetle should be scary
beetles make most people wary.
But these ones are kind of cute
and they look great to boot.
So many things they do adorn
many that can be worn.
Jewellery in the Steampunk style,
so glamorous it makes you smile.
The Cufflinks and Tiepin
for Fathers Day would be a win.
So much with this Egyptian flavour
so many delights to savour.
With Egypt I think of sand
shifting and covering the land.
Pyramids that tower so high
a miracle to make you sigh.
The Sphinx guarding the tomb
so majestic even in the gloom
of the night. Watching over all
so still, so silent, so tall.
The heat of the burning sun
doesn`t abate till day is done.
Such a place has so much history
and much of it shrouded in mystery!!

May Daze Creations #Folksy

I already know what I was going to do for today. I`ve been very slack in showing you the most recent creations of the May Daze listing club on Folksy. So today I am making amends with this wonderful display just for you.
I must confess that I have missed the odd day of listing, usually when I am going to work and running late. Ooops. My life often seems to be a matter of juggling and trying to keep all the balls in the air.
I do find that being on line can take up a lot of my time, especially keeping up with all the promoting and everything. I also like to make sure I do my bit in clicking through all the new listings for the club each day and popping them on Pinterest. I also often add some to Google+, Kaboodle and Twitter etc. But of course all this takes time that I could be spending crafting.
Last Saturday I suggested people add ideas to a notebook when they have lots of ideas and not enough time and then forgot to take my own advice. So that is something I must do. Find up the notebook and keep it nearby at all times for when those ideas pop up.
I`ve been making a new scarf. Well... a new old one. It is similiar to one I sold in my first few months in 2010. I did have an enquiry about the sold one a while back, asking where they are and what colours they come in but when I replied with a query as to what colours were wanted I got no return message, so I didn`t make any more then.
The other night I suddenly decided to start making one and now it is almost finished. I might do a few different colours in the same style.
I`m waffling a bit, time to rhyme.

The sun came out, the sky was blue
I was happy, didn`t have a clue.
Then the sky turned black
and brightness I did lack.
Down it came clattering and banging
and there was I, hanging,
onto the window in amazement.
What is this nature has sent?
Chunks of ice raining down
enought to make anyone frown.
Tell me is it really May
can it possibly get worse today?
Yes it can and it did
when, oh when, we will be rid
of this strangeness in the weather,
driving us to the end of our tether.
What next I begin to wonder
even as it starts to thunder.
From sun to hail and then rain,
then through the cycle once again.
As cold as in the winter, once more
don`t want to step out of the door.
Come on summer it is time to appear
we all demand it, YOU HEAR!!

Man`s Best Friend #Folksy

I was unsure what to put on here for a change so I had a look around on Folksy and came up with Dogs. Man and Woman`s best friend.
Dogs tend to be uncomplicated, happy when you are, sad when you are. They seem to understand so much and are faithful friends regardless.
I don`t have a dog now but used to enjoy the walking when I did. Not so much the bad weather walks although it does ensure that you get out regardless of the weather. Let`s face it, most dogs don`t care about the weather as long as they can go out walking.
Today we have crafts that are items for dogs as well as crafts that have dogs on them or are dogs.
Yesterday started off chilly but sunny with a clear blue sky. It was enough to lift the lowest of spirits. Gradually though the wind got up, again, and the clouds started to appear.
I took advantage of the sun and did lots of washing and got it all dry. I did dreaded housework, bleurgh. I am sure that all housework should be banned. Why hasn`t anybody invented a self cleaning house yet?
I did get some photos taken and some listings done in draft ready for the next few days which is time consuming but great once it is done.
I have also added a Clearance Section to my Folksy shop for those that like a bargain.

Funny weather that we`ve got
but that is the British lot.
Nice and sunny, then a lull
now it`s turned very dull.
The wind has got stronger,
the sun is gone for longer.
Big black clouds, then fluffy white.
I prefer the sun, nice and bright.
The wind is bending the trees,
just go away wind, please.
Today you are coming from the North
which apparently then brings forth
lower temperatures and the chill,
not for us a summer thrill.
All I want is warmth and heat,
I`d love to use the garden seat.
I don`t want to be all wrapped up,
I want T shirts and a Pimms cup.
Instead we have cold and rain
just like winter`s back again!
