Crafty Folk Crafts #Etsy

I thought we would have the January listing club from Etsy today, the Crafty Folk. It`s lovely being able to broaden my horizons so I am really pleased I decided to re-open my shop on Etsy. Now I have found the Crafty Folk and become part of the listing club I have discovered even more fabulous crafts.
This will be a regular thing methinks, having Etsy crafts on here. Whether it`s the listing club or Creations I find on Etsy following a theme or randomly adding what takes my fancy.
I think it makes it more interesting to increase the diversity of crafts to be seen.
Mmm... yesterday.... What did I do? Computer work... hung out washing in the middle of it and realised how cold it was outside. Then was most put out when it got rained on. Picked up the littlest grandson from play school and was delighted when he came out smiling and pleased to see me. The last time he cried wanting his Mum, only for a minute or two but still, it was disconcerting. We had lunch together and he thought it was great to wake his grandad who is on night shift. After returning him home I did some crochet, another pair of mitts finished. These last two pairs are a lot longer and go further up the arm for extra warmth. I also sewed a button on one of the mug cosies i had finished, the other is still waiting. can`t do too much sewing in one go otherwise I will be traumatised. Well.... not really... well.... maybe a little bit.
Enough waffle, it`s time to write the rhyme. What about? I have no idea until I start.

It was so very cold yesterday,
not one for going out to play.
Now I`m wondering, will we have snow,
to set all our faces aglow?
It`s prettier than the freezing rain,
just as cold, but then again
it doesn`t soak through as fast
and maybe it wouldn`t last.
I love to watch it fluttering down
and often stand grinning like a clown.
It brings out the big kid in me,
I just love to watch it, you see.
My daughter wants snow for her wedding,
the kids would love to go sledding.
Just a bit would be nice
not too much, at any price.
To make a snowman with the grandkids
and watch teenagers doing skids
along the paths and falling over.
They don`t care they`re in clover.
It can be fun for a little while
and the sight does make me smile.
It`s so cold, I`m looking forward to spring,
now that would really make my heart sing!!

Love Hearts #FolksyFriday

Folksy Friday again already!! I can`t believe how fast this month is going already, getting on for it being half over, what happened to January being a long, never ending month. It`s crazy, the busier you are the faster time goes, when really you need to slow time to get even more done.
Did that make sense? I think it does... sort of.
Anyway, as usual I am digressing. Why do I do that? I am always getting off the subject in hand instead of keeping to the point. I think it may be because I write what comes into my head and my brain has this habit of going off on a completely different tandem.
Ooops, I`ve done it again. Folksy Friday!! I have decided to have hearts on my Folksy Friday this week, mainly because I saw a thread on the Folksy Forum for showing off Valentine`s items. Well... not just because it`s there. I just realised how that sounded. I had a look through and thought how many gorgeous things were there on show and that was it. A light bulb moment and the birth of a great idea. Ta Da!!
Now doesn`t that sound grandiose. I feel as though I should walk around with my chest puffed out doffing my hat at everyone now. Tee Hee!
Got some more photos done yesterday as I wasn`t happy with all the pics from the day before. Also finished a pair of cream fingerless mitts and another cosy and coaster set. Although I now have a couple of those requiring buttons. Another pair of mitts well on the way and the scarf is about half done now.
The four grandchildren came for tea, so I prepared it in advance to give me more time with them. After tea is was time to play on the Wii, before tea it was chatting and catching up on their days. I think a good time was had by all.

Home is Where the Heart is.. #Handmade #Folksy

I was having a look around on Folksy and looked under kitchen and dining. There were so many gorgeous creations that I kept looking and the more I saw the bigger the idea grew.
So many crafts for the home were featuring hearts that the phrase `Home is where the Heart is` kept popping into my head. So there was nothing for it but to have that as the title and have an array of homeware crafts on here for you today.
Any of these fabulous creations would make a wonderful gift or better still a treat for yourself. Go on, you know you want to..
Yesterday I went into the city. I had a couple of things that had to be done but the main reason was to get some yarn to finish off something I was making. Well I confess that was a very bad move. I didn`t just get the one I needed.... yes I know you will be shocked... as if I could possibly buy more yarn. Hmmm...
At this point I have a bigger confession... I`m not even sorry or the slightest bit penitent. But that`s mainly because I have been busy inventing a new stitch. Well it`s new to me. I had one of those, well what if I do this moments... I practised a bit and was delighted with the effect. So with some of the new yarn I decided to try a large crochet hook and do the same pattern. And lo and behold, it looked great, well I thought so anyway.
I had to go into the bank to sort something out and the young lady was very apologetic as she tried to get the relevant person on the line. So I got out my crochet and she was fascinated. We had a lovely conversation about what I do and what I make and how I do it. She thought the yarn was beautiful, which was a great justification for having bought it. Tee Hee!
I came out feeling as though I had made a friend.

Winter Warmers #Etsy

Couldn`t really decide what to put on here today but thought I would showcase something from Etsy as the last couple of days have been Folksy items. I toyed with Valentine`s goodies, then hummed and haa`ed, totally undecided. Then I rubbed my cold fingers for the umpteenth time and had a lightbulb moment. Winter warmers, of course. I can show delectable hats and gloves and scarves and anything else vaguely related. Yay!!
I went off to have a look and discovered many gorgeous creations, it was so tempting to just keep adding but as usual I had to stop somewhere. I think you`ll enjoy these wonderful winter warmers and be very tempted to treat yourself. They make great gifts too.
Yesterday I was at work, slogging away to earn a crust.... well actually to fund my yarn obsession. My brain just keeps on buzzing with new ideas and I haven`t yet, still, had the chance to play with my new toys. Glass painting, although I have dabbled in that before and candle making which I really want to have a go at. I fully intend to do that some time this week, I hope.
Today I shall be going into the city as I need some yarn that I ran out of. To finish something I`m making. It`s so annoying when that happens, you`re so close to a finshed item and then for the sake of half a dozen rows you need more. I`ve got a few things now that are almost finished and will be finished in the next couple of days..... probably.

What to do that`s not the same,
don`t want to start getting lame.
