Really liked this beautiful collection of black and blue creations and thought you might do too
.
I am off to visit family in Milton Keynes for the weekend leaving hubby at home to fend for himself. Ready meals are ideal as he can just about manage to stick one in the oven to cook for himself. Personally I wouldn`t want to eat them but as he can`t/won`t cook for himself it`s the only alternative.
Well, apart from me staying at home that is and that`s not going to happen. He could come too but doesn`t want to and to be honest he gets bored with the constant talking so he is better off at home.

This poem was one I wrote while sitting in a hospital waiting room last year.

A lady waiting sat drawing,
totally oblivious and ignoring
all that was going on around,
likely, not hearing a sound.
The lady was very much older
I saw, peeking over her shoulder.
She drew people while they sit waiting
their turn, each one a portrait.
At first I thought she was writing
right up to the first sighting.
Each face had so much detail,
knew which each was, without fail.
Such a skill I marvelled with awe
even while wishing to be out the door!!

Clay Creations #Etsy

So here we are with the weekend almost upon us once more and I have found you a fabulous clay collection to enjoy.
All of these come from the `All Handmade by Me` team on Etsy. As you know their logo on a shop means every item is handmade in their shop.
At first glance they don`t all seem to be made from clay but it is in there somewhere, honest. You`ll just have to click through to the item in the shop to see what the rest of the title or description says.
That should intrigue. Have fun.
Still working on new ideas, gets a bit frustrating when it won`t go quite right. I wish I wasn`t so fussy, if the slightest thing isn`t right then it goes in the bin and I start again. Sigh!!

The days is grey and overcast
I just knew the sun wouldn`t last.
This weather is very fickle
the rain started as a trickle.
The momentum gathered and grew
and down the torrent flew.
Not much about the weather to praise
as I look through the grey, wet haze.
There`s a flower that`s braved the cold
and begun to open, it`s so very bold.
The rain does it`s best to beat
it down, trying very hard to defeat
the overpowering need to strive
for the light and show it`s alive.
Like us they struggle and endure strife
to win through for a better life!!

Mostly Metallic #Etsy

I don`t think I have ever done a metallic blog, in fact I`m pretty sure it`s a first. So here we are making history together, well it`s part of the history of this blog anyway and it sounded rather grand.
There are lot`s of gorgeous creations here that would make wonderful gifts for any occasion, or I dare say, a lovely treat for yourself.

Yesterday was a lovely day, spent with my youngest grandson, home from school. It was his birthday last Sunday and we had a family party for him and Monday after school was supposed to be a party with his friends. Unfortunately he was a bit sick, with over excitement we think, as he didn`t have a bug and was right as rain after. It meant though, that he couldn`t go to school for 48 hours after as they have strict rules to prevent the spread of bugs and germs. His party had to be changed too, bless him.
At least we had some fun. An outing, followed by painting, lunch and lot`s of laughs and giggles as we played.

In nature are the colours of metal,
all growing in fine fettle.
The sky can be silvery grey
or leaden on another day.
The sea can look like molten steel
not quite sure how that would feel.
There`s golden corn in the field
in the sun giving a great yield.
Flowers of bronze and gold,
such sights never grow old.
Then there`s the Silver birch tree
another metal there you can see.
The colours of metals are everywhere
catching the light and making us stare.
Of course some comes out of the ground
and likely still more to be found!!

Neutral Shades #Etsy

Nice to have neutral shades to offset colours or maybe you prefer neutral colours all the time. I know many people do, just as many love to wear black a lot.
Me I love colour but I do wear neutral shades too, it all depends upon the occasion.

Yesterday I was on a mission. I was looking for card, not just any card either, it had to be a certain weight. The first place I went to was closed for renovations which wasn`t a good start at all. The second choice that I hadn`t been near for a long time..... wait for it....... had become a funeral home. So right about this point I was starting to think my idea was doomed. Could their be a bigger sign from the universe?
But me? I am stubborn! So off I went to the city. After visiting various places I went back to the first one and bought two packs of card. It`s to try out my idea so really I should have just got one but it usually takes a few attempt`s to get it right and I would hate to run out just as I`d got it sussed.

Speeding through the countryside
enjoying a comfy train ride.
Not much colour now winter`s here
very little growing, that is clear.
Leaden skies of endless grey
not much chance of sun today.
Bare branches and pale bark
not even a sighting of a lark.
Fields bare in shades of brown
it`s enough to make us frown.
I love nature in every season
constant changes aren`t the reason.
Enjoying nature helps us to revive,
after our endless need to strive!!
