Tasty Treats #Folksy

Today we have some delicious treats in store for you. They aren`t exactly edible but nontheless are rather tasty looking. Some are so exquisitely done that you want to eat them. Not advisable though as you will see when you click on the pictures to discover more.
I got the idea for this blog as the Folksy front page had food related crafts on it. Some of these were taken from that page but others came from searches, putting in things like, cake, chocolate, biscuits and sweets.
Amazing really what you can find if you just put in the right words. It can be a bit of trial and error getting those words exactly right but hopefully they are still working to improve the search facility.
Yesterday I was a bit naughty. Well maybe more than a bit. The day started with me sleeping until nearly 7.30 a.m, unheard of these days, but very welcome. Although it did then put me rather behind. Anyway I got a move on and headed off to the city by 11.30 a.m, not bad.
The aim was to buy 1, yes just one ball of wool. I was also trying to buy some organza. Simple, yes? Maybe....
First I didn`t buy just one very large ball, I bought two. Different colours I might add. Then I made a big mistake... I asked about the price of the cotton yarn that was on offer. Before I knew it the man had talked me into buying some, make that several balls. Yes it was a good price, but it wasn`t what I went for and it was still more than I should have spent on a ball of yarn, even if it was cotton.
Then off I toddled, still reeling at the speed of the transaction and trying to work out how that had happened. So I set off for the fabric shop. What started as an intention to buy about three colours of organza turned into nine shades. Hmmm.
Then I made the mistake of taking a look into another shop I get yarn from and bought more. One of those was the exact colour I needed for an order but the other four weren`t. Oh dear!!!
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Today we have a tasty treat
not something you`d want to eat.
They really have a yummy look
but they`ve not been made by a cook.
Some are crocheted and knitted,
you noticed, how quick witted.
Some are made of polymer clay
and they are only meant for play.
Cupcakes for the bath to have a soak.
No I promise it isn`t a joke.
Candles that are a delectable delight.
Have you ever seen such a lovely sight?
A bar of chocolate made of soap.
You won`t nibble that I hope.
A knickerbocker glory it would seem
delicious and covered in cream.
Hot chocolate with cream and a cherry,
now wouldn`t that be so very
scrummy, delicious and tasty.
Hold on though, don`t be hasty.
Once again they are not to eat
you wouldn`t like the taste of that treat.
Not a single calorie in any of these
you can have as many as you please!!

In the Garden #Folksy

I couldn`t think what to do for today so I had a wander. Strolled though the forums... great listings but not something that inspired me.
Front page? Hmm..... not really.
Ahh... the new listings page. I know it`s not easily found, just a line of tiny pictures near the bottom of the front page, but it is there. Looked through, kept clicking for more and then gave up.
I was kind of in a `can`t you want to` mood. Nothing quite fitted in the way I wanted.
Then I looked under Travel... was tempted for all of a moment then decided, no!
Oh dear this wasn`t boding well at all. Then I clicked on Home & Garden and that was followed by a random click on Planters and Pots. That produced a definite Ahhhhh.... Now that was more like it. Inspiration stirred and woke up. Garden, the great outdoors, where many of us are longing to be if only the interminable rain would stop.
So that was it, theme decided. Yay!!!
Now yesterday was grey and dismal with intermittent rain. Yes I did get the washing dry but only because it went out at 6.00 a.m. I did housework.. bleurgh!! Some food shopping, not too bad because I got some plants. Actually there were more plants than food. Ooops.
By the time we came back my neck was killing me. Not quite sure what I did to it but it was really painful. Once the ibuprofen kicked in it eased a bit and heat on it helped. Must have looked a bit weird walking around with a hot water bottle plastered to the side of my neck. Still it helped, that was the main thing.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Housework, I think, is very bad
I ended up feeling very sad.
It must be that that gave me pain
I`ll try not to do that again.
My poor neck was very sore
hurt even to open the door.
Just one side, so very odd
and made me a cantankerous sod.
Then my ear that side, started to ache
followed by the shoulder, for goodness sake.
Time to take anti pain measures
the hot water bottle is one of my treasures.
A while later it was calming down
I no longer had a permanent frown.
The computer proved a great distraction
and the pain eased another fraction.
I`m really not into pain,
tends to drive me slowly insane.
Concentrating did the trick
and stopped it getting on my wick.
Now I`ve forgotten it`s there,
only `almost` to be fair.
Now I`ve finished my whinge
the pain`s reduced to a tinge.
Although it might be a while
before the return of my smile!
