#July Jewels #Handmade #Folksy

Time for a tribute to the July Jewels methinks. For those that don`t know, this is this month`s name for the daily listing club on Folksy. It`s a personal challenge to list an item each day in their Folksy shop. Those taking part support each other and help promote each others products. It`s a great idea and I have loved being a part of it for the last 10 months. I`m just taking 2 months off for some intensive crafting time to prepare for the winter season.
No don`t groan at the thought, although I can`t say I blame you, I would have done too a year ago. Now I realise that being prepared and having lots of creations ready to list will make life a little easier in the coming months. I have also realised that the right light, preferably daylight, makes a lot of difference too. So I will be trying to get as many of my creations photographed before the summer is over.
Although looking out of my window and considering that I am sitting here with a thick cardigan and socks with my jeans, I`d say it`s a bit far away at the minute. But you know our great British weather it can all change in an instant, so here`s hoping it returns quicksmart.

Seasons they all come and go
in keeping with nature`s flow.
Spring is the time for budding
we hope there is no flooding.
Summer comes with leafy green
a wonderful sight to be see.
Autumn is a time for preparing
as we wonder how we`ll be faring,
through the winter`s dark and cold
bringing all family into the fold.
Gathering around the fire
hoping it won`t be too dire.
Glad when spring re-appears
and we can put aside our fears.
But for now, come back summer
cold and grey is a bummer.
All I want is warmth and sun
then my whingeing will be done!

Blimey, how can it be Friday again already. It`s just all wrong that the weeks fly by so fast.
Although I have to say I am quite glad this week has gone fast as I am going away for the weekend today. I am off to Milton Keynes to visit family and I am really looking forward to it. I expect I shall get lot`s of crocheting done while I am there, although there will be others staying too. We are having a get together so I may not get as much done as usual, but that will be fine as I shall get to catch up more with other people instead. Although I shall be away I have done a new blog for each day so that you can still have your fix of fabulous Folksy goodies.
Don`t forget to pop in each day to check it out.
Not quite sure what this Folksy Friday will be. I shall have to go searching for inspiration on Folksy and see what I come up with.
I discovered an old thread about birds. Someone asking to see birds for their blog and getting an amazing amount of choice. I peeked in it and thought they all looked so great that I would include several for this Folksy Friday.

The wonderful weekend lies ahead,

The shops forget to put customers first
sometimes I`m so irritated I could burst.

#Time Out #Handmade #Folksy.

Clocks today. I have seen so many stunning clocks at different times on Folksy that it suddenly occurred to me to do a blog on clocks. As they vary so much I thought that they shpuld have a showcase all of their own. There are of course, so many more than I could possibly show on here, so be sure to check out their shops for even more outstanding work.
Now what did I do yesterday....? I took my youngest grandson out for a while as I was babysitting sitting him while his mum was at work. We did have fun and lot`s of giggles. I got out my crochet while he was sitting quietly, half a sleep, but didn`t do any as he soon livened up again.
Did half an hours worth as we waited to collect the 4 yr old from school and did do some last night for a couple of hours.
I bought some more yarn too... Another 10 balls, oh dear. I really am hopelessly addicted. In my defense it was yarn with a shimmer thread running through it and I was getting low on it. I have been trying out some new ideas and loving the results. Have also had ideas for adding beads to certain items so will be doing that soon. I think they are going to look fantastic and will certainly brighten up the winter.

you really don`t need to sigh.

they`re bound to think it`s wild.

with all these choices you could
get gifts for all, at one go
something they can put on show.
Whatever they like there`s bound to be one
they like, so be quick before it`s gone.
Use your time and make it fun
be sure to take time in the sun.
Use it wisely, it will soon pass by
time not used will too quickly fly.
When it`s passed you look back
wondering where you did lack.
Why has it all gone so fast,
why did none of it last?
Just make the most of every hour
because in that time you will flower!
