Delectable Blues & Greens #Etsy

This blog is from a treasury I made for this weeks Craftyfolk Shop Promo Challenge. The winner this week was Terah from Terah Classy Creations.
Terah`s bio says:
I am a mostly self-taught artist. At first, my inspiration came from learning the craft itself. Now, in addition to learning a new exciting twist on a technique, Inspiration comes from COLOR, pattern, and texture in just about anything from nature to textiles! But most of the time the beads themselves are all the inspiration I need.
I enjoy many different types of arts. I play the piano, draw, knit, crochet, play with wire, metal emboss, and love to dance. But I keep coming back to beads because they're so versatile! So many things can be made from beads!! I've been beading for over 20 years (but more seriously in the last 8 years)! I hope to keep learning, and growing, and I hope that my finished works will reflect this in the artful integration of many different techniques and mediums.
Terah also says that she loves a challenge and is always ready to take on custom orders.
Her shop is filled with stunning designs and creations, well worth a visit, but don`t blame me if you have the urge to own one of her pieces.
Do have a browse through the other shops featured here too as they also have many more wonderful creations.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

There was a saying, once upon a time
and I shall use it for this rhyme.
It used to said, Blue and Green
should never ever be seen.
It was a long time ago
but I`m glad knowledge can grow.
Together they look divine.
Don`t you think they look fine?
Some blues remind me of the sea
some greens of a bean and a pea.
Others are like a summer sky
with wispy clouds that gently sigh.
Greens of leaves on a tree
nature having a shading spree.
Fields of greens, a patchwork quilt
that only the sun has the power to wilt.
So many colours in nature`s design
all maturing like fine wine.
From nature comes the power to inspire
it sets the creative juices afire!!

Gifts for Gals #FolksyFriday

This blog was easily decided when I looked at the front page on Folksy and it said Gifts for the Girls. One of those really caught my eye and I thought why not.
Then I put that into the search... hmmm.... not much at all. So I tried just girls and up came pages for children. I was beginning to think it was a non starter. I tried Gifts for Women and got 10.
So it was a case of putting women and then after that specific items to finish it off. I think Folksy need to work on their search facilities a bit. People could be forgiven for thinking that there were only those items available in those categories.
I hope you enjoy my selection for you today. There`s still time to buy on line to get wonderful unique handmade gifts if you live in the UK.
What did I do yesterday? Had my little grandson. When I looked after him early in the week he wanted to make cards and he had a lovely time with glitter glue and Christmassy things to stick on them. He also `helped` me wrap some presents. But yesterday he wanted a bus ride, so off we went. We browsed a few toy shops and then he wanted lunch despite it being only 11.00 a.m. So off we went to Greggs which is a favourite of his and he wolfed down sandwiches and a sausage roll in record time. I`d say he was hungry. Then we had a bus ride home and it was almost time for my daughter to return from work.

we have all you want, yes indeed.
Sit in your onesie or dressing gown

Cosy Comfort #Folksy

This blog was decided by my younger daughter. She called for sympathy and comfort as she had a cold and we chatted for quite awhile. Towards the end I said to her that I wasn`t getting very far with my blog while I was chatting. At that point she said Comfort! That would be a good blog with it being so cold and lot`s of people having colds and viruses. So I told her I would make a note of it and here we are, a blog is born!
All these gorgeous creations are from Folksy. Just the thing, I thought, for these cold nights. From hot water bottle covers, to handwarmers, blankets to snuggle in, wraps to keep you cosy, as well as cosies for tea and coffee pots and mug. Actually the mug cosy is one of mine I decided to sneak in as I have put all the Christmas items on Sale. First come first served, as it were.
We also have leg warmers, socks and cosy slippers today. Everything you need for comfort and warmth.
Nothing exciting happened yesterday as I was at work. So busy that I barely had time to think. I did however manage to write Christmas cards for my workmates at lunchtime. So that`s another job ticked off. Now I just need to write all the rest. That is a task I tend to put off as it`s such a big task, but at the very least I must make the effort to write the ones to post.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Lot`s of goodies to keep you warm
some of these far from the norm.
So many stunning works of art
will very likely make you dart
off to the shop in a hurry
in a crazy buying flurry.
I take no responsibilty if you bolt
straight for a shop, not my fault.
You`ll probably have a great desire to own
before that particular bird has flown.
They are handmade, one of a kind
and tend to go fast, I find.
For those who want comfort and style
and beauty that will make them smile
Handmade is the best way to go
away from the mass produced flow.
It`s easy too, a quick flick
and they`ll be on their way in a tick.
Brightening your life in the best way
so why not treat yourself today?

Unicorn Magic #Etsy

I couldn`t do the usual WowWednesday today as last night the site was very slow and so I gave up after half an hour with not even two pictures added. Not quite sure why it was happening and wondered if it was my computer but everywhere else loaded just fine. Could well be that they had a massive amount of traffic to the site as everyone seems to be doing last minute buying now.
I think people have woken up to the fact that Christmas is really close and started panicking.
Anyway, I digress.
So I visited Etsy and was dithering about what to put on here after having to change my original plan and whatever I put into the search I wasn`t really inspired with what came up. I think I was feeling `can`t you want to`.
But during this continual round of searches I saw a unicorn and thought how lovely it was. So I put unicorns into the search and was inspired. Trouble was I lost the original one that had inspired the blog. I did however discover many gorgeous and delectable creations of Unicorns or portrayals of them.
I always think Unicorns are magical, a fairytale bit of magic that inspires. Somehow with today the date being 12.12.12. it just seemed the right thing to have. Don`t ask me why because I have absolutely no idea.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

The beauty of a unicorn
reminds me of a wonderful dawn.
Both hold the mystery and magic
that without which makes life tragic.
We need the magic and mystery,
the legends, long part of history.
Who drew the very first one?
It`s lost and they are long gone.
But the magic of it all stays
in oh so very many ways.
We love the picture and the story
of derring do and the glory
of all that might have been.
And wonder, has one ever been seen?
Why do they have a horn on their head
and why does it curl round instead
of being a smooth piece of bone
that looks rather like a cone?
I love them all anyway
and hope you like seeing them today!!
