Green & Gold #Etsy

The letter G today in the ingoing saga of the colour alphabet. Today I have brought the creations to you from Etsy. Nice to have the diversity of different sites.
There were a few choices I could have made, Grey, Grape which is purple of course, all manner of greens and gold. I looked no further and decided to have green and gold as they complement each other so well.
Now what did I do yesterday, besides the usual stuff. Finally got round to cleaning the outside table and chairs and hunting out the parasol. That took a while. Our back garden is South facing and secluded so you can imagine how warm it gets. A bit of shade is required if you don`t want to cook.
I also got a whole load of new artwork done for my Digital Art shop. Some artwork prepared and quite a bit printed ready to be photographed.
We also popped out to the supermarket to replenish the ice lolly stocks that seemed to have gone down drastically for some reason.

I don`t usually include discount codes but I have decided to, as why shouldn`t my readers have the opportunity to save some money.

A rhyme I wrote a few months ago sitting in a waiting room.

I`m writing a little ditty
about us all sitting pretty.
All lined up in the waiting room,
that`s pervaded by an air of gloom.
The queue begins to move
they`re getting in the groove
The pace is picking up, moving fast,
was quick in and out, the last.
Will the movement keep on flowing
and the crowd keep coming and going.
The group never seems to get less
and I`m watching closely, I confess.
As some depart still more arrive
it seems no matter how they strive
they don`t succeed till they call a halt
and then for their homes they`ll bolt.
But us we`re done and on our way,
we`ve had enough in there today!!

Fuschia & Forest #Folksy

Today as you can see we have reached F, kind of had to be Folksy didn`t it. Although E wasn`t Etsy yesterday. Oh well, it`s Folksy today.
This was a bit tricky, but I thought of Fuschia quite quickly, then decided that Forest would go with it quite nicely. I am trying not to get a hideous colour combination.
Well I was a busy bee yesterday. After an enquiry about glass covers I decided to make the effort to sew some the beads onto net and crochet covers, that were ready. I have to say too, that they have been sitting there for ages awaiting beads. I sat there for a couple of hours or so and got 3 done and photographed all the ones that hadn`t been photographed. So not a bad afternoons work.
My daughter popped in with the youngest grandson so he could tell me about his morning at big school. An induction day for those starting in September. Then she popped by later with both little ones on the way back from school, so that was lovely.
Then while cooking tea I helped hubby fit a new door seal on the washing machine. My fingers were smaller for doing the tricky bits.
I have my uses.

Summer heat and people turning brown,
looking about, not a single frown.
Happy faces with great big smiles,
the heat beats the cold by miles.
A gentle breeze rustles the leaves,
cooling arms in short sleeves.
Pregnant ladies need to rest,
the heat puts them to the test.
The kids they all rush about,
they love to laugh and shout.
Nice to sit outside with a glass of wine,
feels so very civilized and fine.
In the day eating an ice cream,
gazing about in a half dream.
Enjoying the summer and having fun
making the most of it before it`s done!!

Damson #Etsy

Well that was a tricky letter to do. I could only think of Damson as a colour so I went to look at each site to see what was available and Etsy had the most variety. 1 had none and the other had less than a page. So the decision of where to make the choices from was easy.
The tricky part came in deciding which shade actually was Damson. There were a lot of what I would call purple rather than the reddy/plum shades I think of as damson. Well you let me know what you think of as Damson. I have gone with what I think of as Damson.

The weather is still holding here in the UK, sunny mostly and warm. In fact the temperatures have been soaring, it`s amazing.
I had my grandson yesterday and had things I needed to do in the city, so it was off on the bus. Then my granddaughter who is 16 decided she wanted to come too. With her exams all finished weeks ago she is free as a bird until Sixth form starts in September. Apart from her part time job of course.
So we went off to the city, all got what we needed to get and had lunch out too. I must say it was lovely to come into the cool house after lugging the shopping. My granddaughter went to see her boyfriend but me and the little one were worn out. I sat and put my feet up and then had to move and do something before I fell asleep. Oooops!

Just what is Damson to you,
a fruit that you can chew?
Or maybe something to make wine
and that of course is just fine.
I wanted a colour to use here
but the shade just wasn`t clear.
I could have used dandelion too
discovered too late, didn`t have a clue.
Another colour would have made it more diverse
and there must be even more in the universe.
Different shades have different names
all adding to the fashion games.
Yet when I need one and search my mind
it`s completely blank I often find.
Still, I have managed to find a collection
that is gorgeous, upon reflection.
A tribute to crafter`s everywhere

Coffee & Cream #Etsy

I had a lovely weekend away visiting family. I talked so much I came back exhausted. I didn`t even pick up a crochet hook once. All I did was talk alot and read. Mind you that made a nice change too. I also did some journalling.

As you can see I am still doing the alphabet in colour and now have reached the lofty heights of the letter C. C just had to be coffee and cream, they look so gorgeous together. I did think of claret too but decided this combination alone was fine.
Not so many today because I had a lot to catch up on from my absence and I ran out of time.

A poem I wrote watching the view from the train.

A wide river sparkling in the sun,
a canal, more like a narrow run.
Barges colourful, gleaming bright
all in the bright sunlight.
Lush green, sprouts across the land.
So much delight, ain`t life grand.
Lot`s of crops, seemingly in rows
snapshots to be seen as the train goes
speeding along on it`s way.
Some see this view every day.
Do they look and really see that view?
But no, heads bent down, they have no clue.
Undulating hills that climb above us
we cut through it without any fuss
Yellows browns and every shade of green
if you look, quite a sight to be seen!!
