T is For ... #Folksy

Today I am wishing my youngest grandson HAPPY BIRTHDAY. He is four years old today, a big boy now, as he keeps telling me. Bless him.
Tonight after work I shall be going to my daughters to help the family celebrate the big occasion.
We had a few more inches of snow overnight on Thursday night and it snowed steadily most of yesterday finally stopping late yesterday afternoon. We are apparently due more over this weekend, with low temperatures, below freezing, that will feel colder in the bitter wind. Brrr.
For those suffering the same fate, stay warm and safe if you do have to go out. Think of me walking to work in it.
Not quite sure where January is going but it certainly is going fast. We are well over the half way mark now and it doesn`t seem to be slowing down much.
Today it`s the letter T with the crafts from Folksy, in case you hadn`t guessed from the title. I`m hoping this will be quite an easy letter, I think it should be. Fingers crossed.
And it was, so here we go. T is for Turquoise, Train, Turtle, Table, Tartan and Toadstool. There were so many possibilities I could have used but I decided to go with these ones today. I think I had a bigger choice of categories with this letter than with S. Amazing.

What a choice, quite amazing.
I spent so much time gazing
and looking through each category
to make a more interesting story.
Could have had a Tardis from Dr Who
would that have appealed to you?
Another choice, a favourite, was Teal,
but that would have been for me I feel,
I continued on and looked some more,
so many creations that I adore.
In the end I went with these
ones that I hope will please
all of you that come to view
and I really hope you do.
Turquoise, Turtle and Table
these are real not a fable.
A good selection with tartan and train
and we are very nearly off again
Toadstools are so very cute
and they are the last of the loot.

T is For .. #FolksyFriday

The 6 year old was a bit under the weather, running a temperature so we didn`t do much. It was nice though to have lot`s of cuddles. The youngest is getting excited as it is his birthday on Saturday and he will reach the grand old age of four. R is For ... #Folksy

I think this letter should be a doddle. Fingers crossed.
This letter comes to you from the crafter`s of Folksy today, so I shall go and explore to see what I can uncover.
Have to say that I am still surprised I`ve managed to get this far. I reserve the right to finish this ongoing theme at any time of my choosing. Hmmm ... that sounds rather good, a bit pompous, but good.
Well that was comparatively easy apart from Folksy seeming to run a bit slow for the last few categories. Not on everything, it was just some pictures wouldn`t load so I ended up leaving those particular items which was a great shame as they were lovely. Still, one persons loss was another persons gain. The original choices clearly weren`t meant to be on here.
And ... here we go again. R is For ... Red, Rose, Rainbow, Rabbit, Robin and Ruffle. There were lot`s more but I decided to go with these for the variety as much as anything else.

Yesterday we had more fine snow after waking to a sharp frost. It even started to lay for a while but then it petered out and the sun appeared. Not that the sun really made much difference as far as warmth went, it didn`t go above one degree. Very chilly. Then early evening it started to snow thick and steady, by the time I walked the grandchildren home at nearly 7.00 p.m after they`d stayed for tea it was already a couple of inches deep and still snowing hard.

Today we have the letter R
and this one should go far.
Lot`s of choice for me
and plenty of craft variety.
First of all I thought of red
so that`s the category that led.
I thought of rug, ruby and ring
didn`t get to them, that`s the thing.
Instead I went next for rose
and the only question it did pose
was what on earth to go for
I certainly wasn`t choice poor.
Rabbit, robin and ruffle were next
my brain had barely even flexed.
That`s not actually, strictly true
I fibbed to make the poem work for you.
What came third was a glorious sight
things full of colour and light.
Yes, I think you already know
third was the wonderful rainbow.
So now the little ditty is done

Q is For ... #Etsy

It SNOWED!!! Very fine but steadily sprinkling and laying on roof tops and odd little nooks and crannies. Very exciting. After a while it turned sunny, also very nice, allowing me to take some pics. It did stay very cold however and barely got above freezing.
I was okay though, busily needle felting in the warm. Each picture takes quite a while to make as I create it in layers, thoroughly needling each layer before adding the next. After three or four hours the background was finished. Yay!!
It`s a good job that Etsy is a large site as it made it so much easier than it might have been. Didn`t do too badly on categories and managed to find lots of fabulous goodies in those categories, even had some words left over.
Well, what about that? I discovered something completely new that I`ve never seen or heard of before. `QUILLOW` Apparently it`s a quilt crossed with a pillow or rather a quilt that folds into a pillow. Just got to use that one, what a great word.
So here we again, we are off! Q is for Quillow, Queen, Quote, Quiver, Quartz and Quilling.
A wonderful variety of goodies for you, hope you enjoy my choices. Don`t forget to have a browse through the shops too if you have the time, they have loads more delights for you.
So pleased with my efforts on this letter that I have left it on show for two days, yesterday and today.

I thought the letter Q would be tough
and even finding words would be rough.
Instead I had a big surprise
and I won the alphabet prize.
It was quite easy after all
and now I feel ten feet tall.
Considering I an half that height
I think that that is quite
an achievement on it`s own.
I wish I really had grown.
But now it`s back to Q
and all the goodies here for you.
First a great word, Quillow
it seems to just flow.
Then queen, quote and quiver
that`s enough to make you shiver.
Then quartz and finally quilling.
For that the crafter must be willing
to have patience and sit a while,
with results that make us smile.
So many lovely creations
are a cause for celebration!!
