Christmas Fun #Etsy

I actually saw this treasury on Facebook first and thought it was so lovely I would share it with all of you.
I had been looking at treasuries but somehow this one just had a special something that said ME ME!! So I succumbed and here it is.

I sent a little needle felted hanging robin off to a new home yesterday so I shall have to think about making another one. Although that is unlikely at the minute as I need to finish the other 4 things I`ve got on the go.
They are in various stages of creation. I have three angels and a mouse. I did put two but on checking realised there were more. Ooooops. I do that with crocheting too. I get an idea and off I go on something new.
I also did some wrapping yesterday and was pleased with my progress until I ran out of wrapping paper. When hubby came home we went to the supermarket and I meant to get more paper while we were out but I forgot. Brain like a sieve. Tut tut.

Today we have a clear blue sky.
That wind it makes me want to sigh.
Rushing through the trees so fast,
no wonder all the clouds have passed.
It`s chilly with the temperature drop
that will catch many on the hop.
Winters back I have to say,
I was hoping for a milder day.
The weather men they threaten snow
tell us the wind will really blow.
Then it all changes, it`s going to be mild
and that`s the trigger for all to go wild.
Raging winds really blowing a gale,
the rain beating down. Or is that hail?
One thing of which we can be sure
for the strange weather there is no cure!!

Jingle Bells #Etsy

Lot`s of festive bells to jingle for you today. Very Christmassy with their sound linked to Santa`s sleigh. Hope you enjoy them.

Had to go to the city again today. Did I mention it`s not my favourite place? Had some `must do` last minute things to get done. Now I don`t mind going when I`ve only got a couple of things to do and the majority of the time is spent in the coffee shop. That is fun, well mostly fun, especially the chatting bit.
Anyway, I eventually got it all done and came home with aching shoulders and weary feet. Now I just have to visit the supermarket with a list my granddaughter gave me. She is icing the Christmas cakes on Sunday and making a chocolate and raspberry cake on Christmas Eve. There was also a rumour of assistance with the sausage rolls and mince pies. Yay!!
I have brilliant grandchildren, they are such great company.

When you hear jingle bells all day
it usually means Santa`s on his way.
He`s being tracked by satellite
while he`s on his yearly flight.
Children all around the world
all excited, sit there curled
around computer or ipad screen
noting where he`s just been.
Excitement mounts as he gets near
he is busy delivering that is clear.
The satellite tracks him, he must be real
for the kids, early to bed is the deal.
He`s on his way, they must get to sleep
because Santa doesn`t want to hear a peep.
Presents galore and a lot of trust
he relies on the magic fairy dust
to get in and out, fast on his feet
in passing grabbing his tasty treat!!

Deck the Halls #Etsy

Now what could be more festive than this? Oodles of holly everywhere. It reminds me of snow and robins as well as Christmas.
So many gorgeous handmade gifts and decorations, not to mention cards and tags available now that it`s a wonder anyone buys mass produced anymore.
On behalf of all small businesses as well as micro businesses and crafter`s like me, I say a BIG Thank You to all those who support us by buying from us for yourselves and for gifts. It is greatly appreciated.

Yesterday I had rather a slow day. Overall I did do quite alot when I looked back but at the time it seemed that I was doing everything in slow motion, especially all the promotional work. I even managed to get a load of photographs taken that I needed to do. Now all I have to do is edit them.... Groan!!

then maybe we`ll all be jolly.
Except for the Mums rushing around
their feet barely touching the ground.
For the rest it`s fun, fun, fun
even though nothing is getting done.
They won`t worry till Christmas Eve
hoping for magic up their sleeve.
For some the season is filled with dread
and they`d much rather stay in bed.
Some don`t celebrate it at all
and that of course is their call.
If nothing else, celebrate diversity
because we`re all in life`s university!!

Party Gold #Etsy

How about this feast for your eyes? Just the thing to get you into the party mood. Golden glittery sparkle for the Christmas and New Year holiday season.
Can you believe that it`s less than a week to go? I can`t, the time has whizzed by so fast it`s ridiculous.

Yesterday I braved the city to do some shopping and meet a friend. All the papers are filled with stuff like `there`s no money about` and doom and gloom stuff. Well they clearly don`t go into the city at this time of year. It was heaving. One shop assistant was laughing about the fact that as fast as she filled the shelf it was emptying. Most places the queues were long to pay. People were buying frantically and nearly all had hands filled with bags.
I managed to buy a few lovely tops for Christmas wear and they will come in handy on my holiday too. Result. A nice sandwich with coffee for lunch made a nice break and it was back into the fray, arriving home late afternoon. Still a couple of things to do, city wise, but they won`t take long.

The last bargain gift on that shelf
just whisked away, not by an elf.
Those pigs in blankets are going fast
don`t know how long they will last.
Clothes leaping off the rail
these shoppers don`t intend to fail.
Head down, shoulders hunched
a big pile of things bunched
under each arm, hands holding tight
was there ever such a grim sight.
That face says, these are mine,
I back away thinking, that`s fine.
We are ready to sit down for a while
and head off for lunch with a smile!!
