Delectable Handbags! #FolksyFriday

Folksy Friday again today. Not quite sure what to do so I am off to look for inspiration.....
Back again! Just logged in to Folksy when inspiration struck. Bags! As my most recent handbag, that was a gift, seems to be on the way out I am going to look for bags. In the process I may well find the very bag I need. I am funny about my handbags, it has to be just right. No preconceived ideas, I`ll know it when I see it. It has to be something a bit different and the colour has to be right. For years I always had black handbags, serviceable and long lasting, these days it has to make a statement too. After all, a handbag is like an extension of ourselves, especially if you always carry one. I do and it has to have everything I need or might need in it. That means it has to be big enough for all my stuff and hard wearing too as well as looking good. I`ve always bought bags in shops in the city before which means you see the same ones elsewhere but this time I shall indulge myself with a bag from Folksy. I love all the bags shown below but am definitely looking more than twice at the fabulous one down the bottom from Lynda of Bags of Swank. Temptation is a terrible thing to overcome, especially when tempted by so many.
I went to the cinema again yesterday, took the older two grandchildren to see Cowboys and Aliens. We all loved it, even though some bits were gruesome. Naturally we ate too much, so much that my grandson came out saying he had a tummy ache. Ooops!!!

They look so delectable and divine
I want them all to be mine,
Pinks, purples and even butterflies
I can already hear the sighs.
Blues, black, red and green
aren`t they the best you`ve seen.
And each shop has so much more
so many delicious bags galore!

Sunshine Bright #Handmade #Folksy

Decided to have sunshine on here today as it seems to be in short supply all round. A lovely sunshine yellow is so cheerful and bright that this should brighten up the dullest day. Well I hope it does anyway. We definitely have a need for more sun with the winter just around the corner. I`ve seen several people saying how autumnal it is in the mornings already, could be a long cold winter again.
Was updating my WOW Thank You shop yesterday morning, adding a few new things, I`ve got a whole heap of things sitting right beside me to be added somewhere. Having sorted through my stock I`ve also unearthed things that have never been added anywhere at all, even though they have been photographed. Oh dear me, I have been remiss. I am still enjoying putting different yarns together for different looks. I`ve also got some gorgeous yarns that I have ideas brewing for.
I took my 5 year old grandson to see Smurfs at the cinema yesterday afternoon. The older two had already seen it with friends so he had missed out. We really enjoyed it, the film was very funny. We did of course eat too much popcorn as usual. It feels kind of obligatory to eat it while watching a film.

The dew on the grass in the early dawn
signals a clear and bright morn.
Fingers of light creep and the rising sun
shows that the night time is done.
The dewdrops sparkle in the early light
glinting like diamonds, a fabulous sight.
The colours so bright, they glitter and glow
and every time they make me slow.
Slow and then stop, to gaze in awe
now this is what life is really for.
Stopping to gaze at nature`s panorama,
really enjoying every minute of drama.
All too soon the sun rises in the sky,
drying everything from up on high.
Now though it begins to warm the air
so we can enjoy summer without a care.
All things growing bathe in it`s light
getting nourishment from the suns might.
Then it turns noon and the heat is rising
as it always does, not so surprisng.
But we forget and wilt in the heat,
too much sun and we feel beat.
But then it gets better by late afternoon
and we know the sun will be setting very soon.
Once more the darkness creeps over the sky
and we know it`s time to say to the day, Goodbye!

Fabulous Finds #Handmade #Folksy

Today are random finds from the new listings on the front pages. I scroll through and add things that catch my eye. I think we all have a different idea of what counts as beautiful or outstanding, so these are my idea of eyecatching. I hope you like the crafts I`ve chosen too.
Yesterday I had to go imto the city and I couldn`t believe how busy it was in spite of the pouring rain. I must admit I can`t be bothered to amble about and look like I used to a few years ago. Mainly because I always have so much on the go at home. Things to make, computer work to do, blogging, etc.
It`s funny really... while I`m at work the creative side goes into retreat, at home, I often see things and find myself making up rhymes in my head, or generally thinking in verse, weird I know. Not quite sure how that happened, it has crept up on me gradually. I really should carry a notebook with me to write all of them down. One day. Sometimes when I sit here at the computer they just flow out. I do write them down then because it is handy to have some in hand in case I am in a bigger rush than usual. Although I have to say once I start a verse the rest usually flows out. Occasionally I do sit there staring at the screen wondering if I will ever manage to think of another verse, luckily that is rare. But it happened as I was writing today's verse. A call followed by a video chat via the computer to my daughter in Switzerland totally scrambled my brain. It was the talk of our upcoming visit and places to see that did it.
I have almost finished another collar, as well as making more mittens. I am loving trying out different textures of yarn together, it is quite an adventure.

I went off for a little jaunt

I do really have a brain
even if it`s not quite sane.
Can`t think what else to say
I`m having THAT sort of day.
My daughter called from Switzerland,
now my minds gone blank and
I can`t think of anymore verse.
I ask you, What could be worse?
Halfway through and no more muse
so today I hope that you`ll excuse
the very lack of cohesion
that`s due to my confusion.
I`ll do much better for tomorrow,
hope you`re not feeling sorrow!
