Yesterday I played hookey and went to the city, meeting a good friend. We wandered about doing some errands, chatting as we went. Actually looking back I think I talked endlessly and she, poor soul, didn`t get much of a word in edgeways. Note to self: curb the chatter.
Unlikely to happen but worth a try.
Just after I returned home my daughter appeared with her youngest two and their friends, on the way back from school. They raided the cupboards and had some eats while my daughter nipped to the shop.
Then later still my older brother turned up, he`s a whole year older, with my youngest nephew and stopped for a cuppa and quick chat.
All in all it was quite a sociable day.

Here come the creeping colours of dawn
signalling the onset of the new morn.
A dark velvet sky edged with light
a beautiful shade becoming bright.
The rest of the dark becomes blue
those edges turn an orange hue.
I watch once more the daily show
waiting for the brightening glow
of the sun as it finally appears
and the last of night, disappears.
No two sunrises are ever the same
like this one, now turning to flame.
Across the sky the colours are streaked
just like a paintbox that has leaked.
It`s a wonderful way to start the day
watching the sun come out to play!!
