#December Elves Final Showcase. #Handmade #Folksy.

So this is it! The end of a year and the end of another decade! It`s quite scary how fast it all goes. Do you feel that way too?
This blog is a last December Elves blog and the last one of the year too. It is also the last blog of the Decade!
A great big Thank You to Natalie of NOFKants Curios for all her hard work again throughout the month. She keeps the sales tally up to date, cheers us all on, commiserates on the lows and generally encourages us to keep going and support our fellow club members. SO THANK YOU Natalie!!!
I`m quite proud of myself for not waffling on too much today!! YAY ME!!!

This is the very last day of the year
arriving so quick, New Years Eve is here.
This is when we traditionally look back
was your 2010 good, or did it lack?
Was it mostly good all the way
or are shaking your head to say,
thank heavens that one has gone
thank goodness that the year is done!
Mine was filled with highs and lows
that is the way that life often flows.
The lows I had were very bad
they still make me very sad.
But the highs they bring the light
they`re what keeps us in the fight.
Today I`ll look back, glad the years over,
for the next one I`m hoping to be in clover.
Today the December Elves will end
that will be sad too, I can`t pretend,
it`s been so good, like the ones before,
it`s helped send my creations out the door.
The new listing club will start tomorrow
a New Year, a new club, no more sorrow.
Upwards and onwards now I say,
Cos tomorrow is another day!

Well, quite a selection for the Final Showcase of the December Elves. We have all worked hard to list on as many days as possible, sometimes listing a few a day and occasionally missing some. I think you will agree that there have been many stunning designs on show this month. I only listed ACEO`s today so put them on here. Midweek Medley of Art. #Handmade #Folksy.

A midweek medley of wonderful art for your delectation today. If you are back at work already then you have my commiserations. I don`t go back for a couple of weeks yet. It`s wonderful to have all that time stretching out before me, although one week has gone already, far too quickly.
I have been busy though the last couple of days, sorting out business cards and re-organising the shop, adding a sale section and sorting out what goes in it. I have to make room for all the new things I keep making. I finished a lovely beret in varying shades of blue yesterday. Last time I added one of those it sold very quickly. I am also making a chunkier beret in blue and teal shades. So many ideas for things to make and not enough time. I am also playing around with ideas for new and different effect scarves and scarflet/collars. But those are still taking shape in my head.
Have to find time to play around with all my new art supplies I got for Christmas too. Ideas are brimming there as well. Those will probably take a little longer to cook in my brain. Although with any of these things you just never can tell!

Well thats Christmas over, far too quickly. Wonderful visitors have all gone home and it seems a bit strange. Had such a great Christmas! I think it`s not what you have but the people that make the occasion. Surrounded by family it could only be good, so good I don`t want it to end. I might stamp my feet and have a tantrum I think. On the other hand that would be a waste of time and effort as I wouldn`t gain anything from it.
Next we have New Year. Traditionally a time for nostalgia and a look at the events of the past year. If you had a good or great year, then you hope even better will appear next year. If it was a lousy year or had bad parts then you look forward to the new year with hope that things will improve. Me, I had a lousy first half and then it improved. Then I found Folksy and haven`t looked back.
So now I am going to display new wonders from the December Elves who are still valiantly listing.

Christmas has become the past,
can`t believe it went so fast.
New Year is looming bright,
a beacon of hope bringing the light.
Are New Year resolutions your thing
or do you not bother and just sing.
I always used to once upon a time,
they ended as a story, like this rhyme.
Now I don`t bother at all to pretend
I know any resolution will come to a bad end.
I`ll be moving forward with hope for the best
that my life will be full of joy and zest.
For now it`s back to real life once more
wool everywhere as you walk in the door.
The break has been great but now I`m ready
to create once again, taking it nice and steady.
No doubt before long I will become manicly busy
my brain working overtime, creativity fizzy.
I do what I love and love what I do

Well Christmas Day was brilliant. Fantastic dinner, wonderful comapany, what more could you want? I had hoped for a bit more snow to make a snowman.
But there you are, thats life. I`m sitting here now with the sun slowly rising over the roof tops turning my room orange with the glow. The sky is clear and blue, it`s going to be a lovely day. Cold but lovely and bright.

Christmas lunch was so divine,
cooked by that lovely daughter of mine.
We sat and lingered over coffee and chat
then it was all cleared away, that was that!
Later, still feeling stuffed, no one wanted eat,
but an array of tempting food, had them out of their seat.
Lot`s of chat and laughter, the perfect Christmas Day
