Spring Garden #FolksyFriday

I had no idea what to do for Folksy Friday. I looked around the forums to no avail. No theme presented itself in any shape or form. So I looked on the fromt page, nothing. Then I decided to look under home and garden. There I saw some inspirational pieces and thought hmm... a nice day yesterday... gardens... springlike weather again... and so this Folksy Friday was born. I decided to put in lots of garden items because now is when we start tidying up and preparing the garden looking ahead to when we can start planting.
I know it`s not quite that time yet, at least not in our region, with the very low night temperatures. Soon though with any luck.
Hope this gives you some ideas for prettying up your garden or that you just really enjoy todays display.
Yesterday started very misty and then turned into a beautiful day, very springlike. I managed to get a few pics taken. The glass covers were listed and sold so I am making some more. I somehow think they may be popular this summer. Nothing worse than taking a sip of your drink and finding uninvited guests swimming around.
The grandchildren came for tea, or at least 3 of them did. The 5 year old was at a friends for tea. I did some painting with the three year old. I asked if he wanted to make a card for Mummy and I said we would get the paints out. With hindsight, not a good move. He did enjoy adding lots of water but luckily the kitchen table was made originally with such things in mind when our daughters were young. I did get covered in paint, or at least my hands were before it was finished. One card was a gooey mess but the other looked okay. My grandaughter had been doing some art homework and came down to see us painting and decided to do one too. A good time was had by all.
The eldest grandson did my ironing, so he was happy too at earning some money but I was happier still at getting it done without any effort on my part.

I woke to a very white world
where mist crept and swirled.
So thick it`s dampened any noise
and makes people lose their poise.
My world has closed in and shrunk
thanks to this opaque white gunk.
As time goes on it thins a little
as the sun tries hard to whittle
and burn away the misty sight
bringing much needed warmth and light.
Nearby trees appear as ghostly apparitions
as very slowly the day transitions
opening up the world once more
as ghostly ideas fade back into lore.
The sun works hard, the day brightens
quicker still as the mist lightens.
A tiny hint of blue appears up high
yes we finally have some blue sky.
Once the ghostly white is gone
we know the day will be a good one.
Clear blue sky and bright sunshine
as days go it`s really fine.
Fading from memory, the days of cloud
when the sky lived in a dark shroud.
Once more we look forward to spring,
with enough joy to make us sing.

Creative CraftyFolk #Etsy

Just realised that I haven`t shown you listings from the Crafy Folk daily listing club on Etsy for nearly two weeks, very remiss of me. Especially considering the wondrous delectable delights you have been missing out on. You`ll have to pop along to the different shops to have a browse and see what you have missed out on. If you put Crafty Folk into the search you`ll find even more team members I haven`t had the space to include, then you can have a browse and see what they`ve got too.
Yesterday I was at work. I woke with a headache, but the walk to work helped to diminish it somewhat. In my lunch hour I managed to finish some glass covers I was working on, in cream cotton with a variety of green glass beads to weight the edges down. I`ve done these a little different from previous ones and made sure they have a curve to sit on the glass better. Although previous ones do the job very well too as the weight of the beads holds them in place. There are quite a lot of beads round each one. They do look pretty and are very effective.
Today I am hoping to take some pictures of a few finished items, so fingers crossed that this awful cloud goes away, if only for a while.

The forecast was cloudy and grey
they weren`t wrong I have to say.
They seem to hang so very low
what we needed was a good blow.
I`m not normally a wind advocate
usually wishing for it too abate.
But it`s been so dark and chill
that in this case I will
say please wind blow away
all these dark clouds today.
They`ve hung about for far too long
for days on end and that`s just wrong.
A little sun isn`t much to ask
to see it without the cloud to mask
the warmth and the wondrous sight
of sunshine cheery and bright.
We all want the spring to return
and are more than ready to spurn
winters tendrils that grip on tight
when we want to return to the light
sunny days of summer and spring
watching birds high on the wing.
Seeing butterflies flutter by
as soft and light as a sigh.
I`m dreaming of summer sun
and want winter to be done!!

Maverick March Makers #Handmade #Folksy

Today we are showcasing March Makers. So many fantastic creations and too little space and time. For those that don`t know they are the daily listing club on Folksy for March. Helping one another, promoting for each other and generally being supportive.
We have all been diligently beavering away, creating and listing, not to mention promoting our wares.
I know first hand the quality of the crafts as I have bought many items from these sellers myself. They are always so much better in the flesh than in the pictures. So much so that I never want to give them as the gifts they are intended to be. Some do make it as gifts albeit reluctantly, the rest I horde away and gloat over. I know I shouldn`t but they are so divine.
Yesterday we took the youngest grandson shopping to the supermarket as he loves going with us and helping. Then as his mum was occupied we took him to Matalan. While I was busy looking and then trying on, he and grandad were playing hide and seek amongst the rails and having a whale of a time. He thought it was all hilarious and great fun. Result for me too as I bought some new jeans I needed.

What do we do if all goes wrong,
do we inappropriately break into song?
Maybe instead we break into laughter
or even do something much dafter.
Fling things about in a tantrum
or ourselves and drum
our feet upon the floor
then shout and yell some more.
Sometimes when painting I do too much
just keep adding an extra touch.
Other times I`m not happy with it
something doesn`t seem to fit.
So then I have to walk away
and leave it till another day.
Crochet though, it all comes out,
cos It`s not right. What`s that about?
I start again and then once more,
keep going till my fingers are sore.
When I am trying something new
my brain won`t rest until I can do
what I set out to create
racing at quite a rate.
My fingers fly till it is done,
making new is so much fun.
I do what I love and love what I do
crafting creations especially for you!!
