Myth, Magic & Fairytales #Etsy

I have seen so many wonderful creations on Etsy and a few treasuries on myths and magic and fairytales and fantasy, so I thought I would show you some today. The more I look around on Etsy the more wonders I uncover and want to put on here.
It always amazes me that the more I find, the more there is to find. So many wonderful treasures just waiting to be discovered. I hope you enjoy my finds for today as much as I do.
I must admit I do love anything to do with mythology, magic and fantasy, ie: fairies, witches and wizards, dragons and so much more. I could just browse for hours, I just wish I had that much time, I`m sure I could uncover even more wonders.
Yesterday I was busy, yes I know, shocking. I went and got my youngest grandson from pre school and we had a trip to the shops and lunch together at my house. He was disappointed that grandad wasn`t awake from his night shift so he had to make do with me. We had lot`s of fun and giggles though and read one of his books on telling the time before playing with some toys. The time just flew until my daughter got home from work.

I went looking for fun things today
I found much more than I can say.
Mythology is a thing of mine
I think it`s all very fine.
Things that go bump in the night
I`m not keen, they give me a fright.
Angels now, I`d love to see one
would have to be quick, before it was gone.
Wouldn`t you love to see a unicorn
standing so proud with it`s curling horn.
So white, majestic and pure
they existed once, I`m sure.
What about a wizard like Harry Potter,
could wizards get any hotter?
Fairies, pixies and the odd goblin,
has anyone seen one hobblin`?
If I saw a dragon breathing fire
I`d know the situation was dire.
But now I`m in the fantasy realm
when warriors were at the helm.
I need to remain in the here and now
and let all that is magical take a bow.
Now that this rhyme is nearly done,
I must confess it has been fun.
To take time out for a little while
is enough to make me smile!!

Rainbows #FolksyFriday

Today`s Folksy Friday theme was solved very quickly. I went onto the Folksy forums and there spotted a thread about rainbows. I clicked on it to find that a Pinterest board had been made called Chasing Rainbows. It just looked fabulous, so bright and cheerful with all those glorious colours together.
Well, that did it, the theme was chosen. I really love rainbows and can stare at one until it disappears and often do. They vary so much. Some quite narrow and barely there and yet others so vivid and bright that they have shadow rainbows. I find rainbows incredibly uplifting, a symbol of hope and get quite excited when I see one.
Some of course say that if you go to the end of the rainbow you will find a pot of gold. For me, the rainbow itself is the pot of gold with it`s vibrant jewel like colours.
I hope you enjoy theses rainbow creations I have chosen for you from the wonderful sellers on Folksy. If you have a few minutes why not have a browse through all these lovely shops to see what else thay have to offer. Who knows, maybe you will find your pot of gold in the form of a perfect gift or something you have wanted for yourself.
Yesterday I made it in to the city as it was a nice dry sunny day. Still cold but so much better than all that rain. I did get done what I went for and then.... you`ve probably guessed by now.... yes, I bought yet more yarn. Oooops.
I would say that I didn`t mean to but I actually went looking for something in particular. They didn`t have what I wanted but they did have three colours I loved in a mix wool/acrylic yarn. I only bought one of each... but... they were very large balls. Ooops again. I really must not buy anymore, mainly because it was a big squeeze getting those ones in. I have yarn squeezed into every nook and cranny upstairs, with bulging cupboards and even shelves filled with it.
Is there such a thing as Yarn Anonymous I wonder? I do seem to have a serious habit here.

Red and yellow and pink and green
the most vibrant you have ever seen,
orange and purple and blue
to make a rainbow for you.
Then there`s violet and indigo
we need them to complete the show.
For when the sun shines and rain falls
then nature makes one of it`s calls.
When all the elements are right
we are treated to a glorious sight.
Emerging slowly and then growing fast
we gaze our fill knowing it won`t last.
Beautiful colours so vibrant and glowing
even as the rain is still flowing.
It creates an endless fascination
this amazing natural creation.
We all love to watch it grow
this stunning, gorgeous rainbow.
Within you do you feel a shift,
does it give you a real lift?
To see one in all it`s glory
is just the start of the story.
For many it lights a fire
of creativity to inspire
and lifts us to a greater height
away from the humdrum fight.
It comes and goes without a fuss,
something that means a lot to all of us!!

Pretty in Pink #Etsy

Yesterday I made my first ever Treasury on Etsy. I read up on the rules and had a look at lot`s of other treasury`s and then I got started. It took me quite a while going backwards and forwards to find things. I`m sure it is something that will become faster with practice and it was fun.
I had been thinking about doing one for a while and then there was chat on the Crafty Folk thread about one of the crafters appearing on the Front Page no less, in a treasury. So that was the spur I needed to get me moving.
Have to say that I visited so many treasuries my head is whirling. Not to mention I have seen so many fabulous creations that my heart is yearning or should that be lusting. Good job I restrained myself otherwise I would be totally broke by now. It`s lucky I have had lots of practice, that`s all I can say.
Anyway, the whole point of this waffle is to tell you that I am going to show you my treasury choices on here. There is apparently a way of putting the whole treasury onto the blog but I think I have learnt enough new stuff for now.
Yesterday it poured with rain, yet again. Was cold and windy too. So although I was going to go out I decided not to bother and leave it till today. We only went out to get our 5 year old grandson from school. Luckily there was a brief respite from the rain so we didn`t get soaked. It`s great to pick him up from school and hear about his day and have some cuddles. He was full of the excitement of having a fire drill and was amazed at how loud the alarm was. Very big talking point that.

I decided to show pink
cos` it makes you think
of all the lovely shades
and pink love never fades.
It can be cheery and bright
a very happy sight.
Or pastel and pretty
to make you feel witty.
Then all the shades in between
the best you have ever seen.
Pink isn`t just for little girls
it`s for a life full of whirls.
For living life and having fun
right through the day till it`s done.

Crazy Advertisers Team #Etsy

A day for crafts from Etsy I think today. Not quite sure what but I am sure I will find something once I go and have a look. Now I think about it I saw some great listings on the Crazy Advertisers promotion thread. Will have to and have a look I think.
There are lots of teams on Etsy that sellers can join to chat and promote new listings. The Crazy Advertisers team looked good so I joined as they have an amazing array of crafters on there.
As you know I also belong to other teams like the Crafty Folk team. You have already seen fabulous crafts from them on here, so I thought it would be great to feature crafts from another team. Hope you like them as much as I do.
Yesterday I was at work. Our boiler went wrong the night before, definitely not a good thing to happen on a Sunday, especially when the weather had turned so cold again. But luckily hubby was off so he waited for the plumber, who was right on time as usual and fixed the problem in no time. Best of all it didn`t cost anything. Woo Hoo!!
Last night I went to my elder daughters to help celebrate my grandaughters birthday. There was an amazing cake, in fact there were two. One was very large and edged with chocolate sheets and strawberries adding to the gorgeous decoration and a very funky cake with a high heeled shoe on, in icing of course. I`m sure that was nothing to do with her love of shoes.... Hmmm...
Still can`t believe she is Fifteen.
It was very cold yesterday too and rained non stop all day, quite heavy at times too. The wind was very strong too, gusting noisily and blowing everything about. Just when I thought spring had come we get weather like this. It`s sooooo wrong.

I stand and stare at the sky
gazing at the stars on high.
That one there shining so bright
with its glittering, twinkling light.
You must know the one I mean
it`s the brightest you have ever seen.
Go straight a head and then slightly left
with that turn you need to be deft.
Wouldn`t you really love to fly
seeing the stars whizzing by?
Do you wonder what is out there
who they could be and even where?
My imagination always runs riot
my brain is certainly never quiet.
If it`s not working out new things to make,
then it`s rhyming, for goodness sake.
A beautiful sunrise or a sunset
and my paints it`s urging me to get.
Staring into a starry night
wondering at the glorious sight
my brain goes into overdrive
the sort that makes it thrive.
What if`s, could be`s and maybe`s
all sorts of possibilities.
Imagination can be such a delight
as it busily puts everything right!
