Finally it`s here!!! The day that we have been building towards for months.
Didn`t get back yesterday to add verse, just too busy having fun. 16 of us for tea, it was wonderful. The children were getting excited. They`d been tracking Santa`s progress on the internet earlier.
There was lots of talkng, some game playing and lots of laughter too. In the midst of it you forget to savor the moment. Now looking back I wish I could bottle it all and keep forever. But life`s not like that so we move forward. Which is also good as its now Christmas Day.
Has Santa been to your house? He`s been here. I washed up and tidied from the remains of last night. But I must say so much of it was done by guests it`s amazing. Wonderful too! That was an amazing Christmas Eve, couldn`t have asked for better.
I will add the linky tool in case anyone wants to add some verse of their own and will probably add more later myself.
Yesterday I was about in the early morn,
was out shopping long before the dawn.
Today, I got up when it was already light,
awake a long while, but the bed put up a fight.
There was a little bit of snow last night
although the extra covering is slight.
Now there`s quite thick fog creating a screen,
From my window not very much can be seen.
I can usually see quite a way
not today on this Christmas Day.
I was hoping for a bit more snowfall
to make a snowman who`s quite tall.
I thought we might play in the snow
to work off dinner and give us a glow.
It`s so very quiet, not a soul seems around
peace and quiet certainly does abound.
But it just seems wrong, cos its Christmas Day.
Will we go see the children and have a play?
I had so many presents, Santa had been
so many more than I had seen.
Went and saw the grandchildren they were full of joy,
it looked like a toy shop, boy, oh boy.
Now it`s nearly time for Christmas lunch
there will be eight of us, quite a bunch.
With a drink in hand for all us
there definitely won`t be a fuss.

Christmas Verse Ongoing. Join in.
Thought I would try an ongoing verse that other people as well as me could add to. Kind of an ongoing history of Christmas in verse. Give it a go, it could be fun! I will be adding to it anyway!

It`s finally here, it`s Christmas Eve,
what has Santa got up his sleeve.
I`ve been up early, the shopping is done
after all the cooking it`ll be time for fun.
The rolls are rising getting ready to cook,
in a minute I`ll go down for a look.
The pastry is made and soon I will make
sausage rolls & mince pies and then they`ll bake.
Tomato and herb and white crusty rolls first
and the gammon is cooking fit to burst.
I`m off to check the bread,
from me for now enough`s been said.
The gammon`s cooking with honey too
breads not risen enough, I had a view.
Time to roll pastry and do the rest methinks,
I`ll leave this blog for now with your linky links!
So much wrapping still to be done, I`d better run...
Ham is cooked, mince pies and sausage rolls are done.
Sliced and tried the ham it tastes divine,
please don`t tell that younger daughter of mine.
She so loves ham especially a home cooked one
if she got it and tried it, it would soon be gone.
The chilli is cooking, jacket spuds all wrapped and ready
Maybe time to prepare the tuna, going nice and steady.
I had the christmas music turned nice and loud too,
anyone who saw would have had a funny view.
I boogied to the music, sang along as well,
danced about so much, a bread roll nearly fell.
Last two things for wrapping, then thats the lot,
few more preparations for tea, then time for a tot!

Whimsical Wednesday #Handmade #Folksy.
It`s getting so close now, the excitement starting to build. It all happens so fast that we forget to remind ourselves to stop for a minute and look around and really enjoy each moment. Savour being with your loved ones, don`t spend all your time cooking and working, take time to laugh and have fun.
Isn`t it funny how nostalgia overwhelms us at this time of year. We probably think of the past more at this time than at any other time of the year. Well apart from New Year, although that does tend to be more about looking forward and hoping for better, especially if you have had a lot of lows.
I love Christmas, the happy faces and everyone relaxed, just enjoying each others company. All the old stories come out, teasing each other about past events, all good humoured of course.

just fresh to get at the supermarket zoo.

with the christmas spell starting to weave,
the magic that only Christmas can bring,
while I do my baking I will sing.
My gammon covered in honey will bake
as once more I brandy the christmas cake.
I`ll make sausage rolls and mince pies too
then start preparing for the evening do.
Overexcited children will eat and play
longing for it to be the big day.
The adults all cheery and finally relaxed
not thinking of credit cards that are maxed.
Time to relax, laugh and sing
and wonder what Santa will bring!

New Finds #Handmade #Folksy.
Decided to look at some new shops and put a few of their items on here for you to look at.
The standard of craftsmanship is, as usual, excellent. It is nice to see new shops adding more variety.
It doesn`t seem to matter how many shops you get making jewellery or crocheted/knitted items, for example, what they produce is different as they each have their own ideas and way of doing things.
Diversity is good!
A rhyme about my day yesterday.
Went to the cinema yesterday and saw Megamind,
had some lunch out and a present we did find.
The city was busy, lots of people around,
most seemed happy and good cheer did abound.
The kids were fun, we had a good laugh
Pushed out the boat, nothing by half.
Big popcorn and fizzy drink too
it was an enjoyable film to view.
At lunch they had hot chocolate to drink
for the littlest one, maybe a mistake I think.
His cup was as big as his sister and brothers
they didn`t seem to have any others.
They older two said he`ll spill it
then when he did had a laughing fit.
The spill he made was only very small
I was watching ready to avoid a close call.
He drained the cup of every drop
we finished our lunch and were ready to hop.
By the time we came home we were all quite weary
the littlest one getting tired and teary.
I dropped them off home yearning for a cup of tea
I know I`m getting older when only tea is for me.
Funny how life events can make great change
this year for me has had quite a range.
Now I like who I am, I`m happy with my life.
What caused it was drastic and brought about strife,
but it brought me right here, to doing what I love
interests and work fit like a `hand in glove`.
These were an order and have been SOLD! I thought I would show them anyway.
