Karmic Revolution. #Handmade #Folksy

For the last few weeks on Folksy there has been a small Karmic revolution going on. Quite a few of us have been taking part in what we call Pay it Forward. An item is listed for 20p the cost of listing it, with the post and packing added and when another buys it they do the same. If a non seller buys the item they are agreeing to do something nice for another person. It is all based on trust of course. It gives people the opportunity to buy some wonderful things very cheaply but they also have to pass the kindness on in one way or another. All the items listed here are Pay it Forwards. For each the price is 20p plus post & packing.
I have bought some wonderful things. Several jewellery making kits, a phone case, beads, a necklace, bracelets and several pairs of earrings. Oh dear, I just counted it up. I have bought 14 items all together. Ooops! Didn`t realise I had bought so many. I have of course listed items in my shop as Pay it Forwards in return.
I think it is a lovely idea and new people are still joining.
Time for some waffle. I had my 2 yr old grandson yesterday while my daughter worked and we had fun together. I had to wait for food shopping to be delivered at my house before we could return to his home. The big shop was an extra as my younger daughter is off to Switzerland on Monday, with her fiance, for 6 months. We are having a get together tonight as it will be the last chance to do so for a while. On Sunday they will be heading back to London for last minute packing before starting their new adventure.
We are going to go and stay with them for a week in September which will be lovely. I shall miss them both a lot but I have no doubt that it wil go really quickly. Unfortunately, I am at work during the day today so I will have to make the most of the time tonight and in the morning until they head back.

There`s a small revolution quietly going on
we`ll all be quietly happy even when it`s done.
Racking up the karma by doing a good deed
spreading happiness by planting the seed.
The buyers happy with a bargain,
the sellers happy a sale again.
They make a great little gift
or to give yourself a lift.
Something pretty, won`t break the bank
whoever started it we`ll thank.
Not quite sure now who it was
started a while ago so that`s because.
I could search the forums I suppose
be a job though, how fast it goes.
Doesn`t matter, what counts is the deed
just thanks to whoever took the lead.
It has been quite a lot of fun
and soon it`s day will be done.
So do your bit, come and buy
then off you go to fly
and find a good deed to do
then it`s all paid back for you.
Now don`t you think that`s really easy
nothing there to make you queasy.
Just doing good and nothing more
no, don`t pass out on the floor!
It happens, folk can be good
just the way they always should!
So off you go, get your bargain now
then do your good deed and take a bow!!

#Mayhem on Folksy.

It`s all Mayhem this Thursday. I think the madness is affecting me, the Mayhem madness that is. I can`t seem to stop waffling all over the place. I just keep burbling on and on aimlessly.
Anyway this blog is dedicated to the Mayhemmers listing club and you have a wonderful display of their inspirational crafts. If you want to see more of their delectable delights, just pop along to the Folksy Forums and look for the Mayhem thread in Chittah Chattah. There is a new thread each day to show the creations that we have listed on that day. It`s very tempting when you look through it and just lately I have succumbed several times. Now I need all of you to visit my shop to replenish my coffers so I can buy more wonderful Folksy goods. I am buying ahead for gifts, well mostly anyway. Okay, some of them are for pressies though, honest!
I`ve was a busy bee yesterday. Was trying to do my new website and got very frustrated when it wouldn`t go right. So annoyed I couldn`t even crochet. I ended up doing housework and going through paperwork. A good way to work off the annoyance and I felt quite virtuous at the end of it. Then I was ready to make things again. YAY!!

Yesterday morning, a wonderful sight
an air ballon in full flight.
It sailed so majestically along
almost made me break into song.
So much out there to see,
if you only look out, like me.
Could be that I`m just daydreaming
or maybe ideas are really streaming
into my brain so I have to stop.
Hah! that caught you on the hop!
Enough of the waffle, time to be serious
maybe I should be all mysterious.
Back to the point of the rhyme
I`m being sensible this time.
Thursday, on the home stretch now
not long to have to plough
your way through traffic each morning.
Or does your day start with the dawning?
Whether school or work, it`s nearly here
the wonderful weekend we hold so dear.
Two days off for the very lucky
not so good for the plucky
ones who have to go to work still
who carry on by sheer force of will.
Has the weather got you down
clouds and wind making you frown?

New Treasures #Handmade #Folksy

I have discovered some new shiny treasures on Folksy in the guise of brand new shops. I know what it`s like to be the new kid on the blog, as do all of us sellers of course. We were all new at one time. The thing is it`s quite hard waiting with bated breath for that first sale to appear. Until that point you tend to wonder if you are ever going to be found amongst so many. There are times when you wonder if it`s all worth the endless effort, even when you`ve been selling for a while. It`s natural, until your name is known, that there are periods of selling and dry periods too. But it`s those times, the dry ones, that are the hardest, when you tend to doubt your ability and your designs. You look at what you do and wonder what else you should be doing and if there is something wrong with the things you make. It`s very easy to give up and much harder to keep at it regardless.
New shops always remind me of how little I knew then. I still don`t know enough, computerwise, but I am constantly learning each and every day. Every time I had a question, I went on to the forums and asked and usually got an answer and help. I didn`t even know what an URL was, let alone how to cut and paste or put picture onto forums.
I knew nothing at all about blogs had never even seen one until I found Folksy. That was quite a battle too, painstakingly putting it into place, bit by bit. There is of course still loads I don`t know. On other blogs they have little ads for other shops and blogs, I have no idea as yet how to do that, but I`ll learn eventually as I learnt about everything else.
All these lovely new sellers will also learn to be proactive to get noticed. In the meantime I am doing a bit of giving back, for all the help I had, by showing their wares on here so they get a wider audience.
So now you have to do your bit by clicking on their items and having a look through the shops.
Oh dear I have waffled a bit, that`s what happens when you feel nostalgic. Blimey, that sounds like I`ve been on here for years instead of months.

Yesterday I went treasure hunting,
founds lots of treasure, no bunting.
Now you may think that statement odd
I admit I can be a strange and funny bod.
But thats not as odd as it sounds
cos it`s summer and it usually abounds.
Never mind, it really doesn`t matter
now you`ll be thinking I`m as mad as a hatter.
I maybe a little eccentric, not mad
and I`m telling you that`s not bad.
It can be fun to do as you like
sometimes I even go on strike.
I take my crochet wherever I go
they think I`m daft, it`s not so.
I wear clothes for comfort, not trend
eccentric`s great is the message I send.
Now I`m even waffling in this rhyme
it was going to be about the shops this time.
I`m just hopeless, can`t keep on track
maybe there`s something that I lack.
If there is I really don`t care
as long as I can always share
my new creations with all of you
because I really love what I do!!

#Flowers #Handmade #Folksy.

Such a dark and gloomy evening yesterday that I thought I would have flowers today to brighten the spirits. Although the sight of rain should make us cheerful as we do badly need it. With all the strong winds we`ve been getting though, the flowers in the garden are taking a battering. The flowers on here however, will always look beautiful. So why not say it with flowers or treat yourself to something beautiful. There`s nothing quite like flowers to cheer us up.
I was a bit low and grumpy yestersday due to lack of sleep. The night before I`d had one of those nights where I keep waking up and dozing off then I don`t want to get up. Once I get moving though it`s not too bad but then through the day I just have odd times where the tiredness hits and I feel weary, grumpy or a bit down. Luckily it doesn`t usually last long and then I`m back to normal trying to do fifty things at once.
On the bright side, I got four things entirely finished and photographed and another four just needing buttons. YaY!! I`m also halfway through a beautiful beaded summer scarf that I will be able to show you soon. Really need to finish things before I start something else, trouble is once a new idea hits I just have to get started. Enough waffle, back to flowers.

I needed brightening up yesterday
gloomy isn`t usually my way.
I`d much rather be positive,
don`t like taking, would rather give.
Yesterday though, there was some gloom,
until a rainbow lit up the room.
A perfect arc, so beautiful and bright
with a shadow too, a wonderful sight.
The colours as brightas the flowers on here
it was definitely a sign, that was clear.
No more moping or drooping about
time to get up an give a shout.
Quick come see this rainbow of mine
it looks so incredibly fine.
Just like the flowers you`re about to view
of their beauty, you don`t have a clue.
So much variety, there`ll be something you like,
please, oh please, don`t take off on a hike.
There`s a must have there, you`ll see
then it`s off to the shop for a spree!!
