Glowing Embers #Handmade #Folksy

The daily listing club on show today. As usual there are so many fabulous creations listed that it is very hard to choose what to put on here. I hope you enjoy viewing the choices I`ve made for today and don`t forget that each of the shops has a great variety of goodies for you to browse through.
I expect you`ll notice that Christmas things are starting to creep in. For many of us who have a lot to buy for it is easier to spread the cost by starting now. For those that are paid monthly and at the end of the month there are only three more paydays to spread the expense through. Although many groan that it is too early, the reality is that folks are buying for Christmas now. It also makes sense to get something that would be ideal when you see it, rather than waiting, only to discover that someone else has pipped you at the post.
I had fun looking after my grandson yesterday. We had lots of fun together and thankfully the weather stayed dry and was quite warm so we played in the garden too. He has such an infectious laugh and it doesn`t take much to set him off. Sometimes it`s just the way you say something that starts him giggling. He`s such a cutie.
Before I went to look after him I made a festive mug cosy with matching coaster and later, after I was home, made a couple more. I may even list those later today.

Have you noticed what`s creeping in,
do you think that it is a sin?
I know it`s still quite early yet,
but for most, not too soon, I`ll bet.
September is already flying by,
it`s going so fast, I don`t know why.
Dark earlier at night, now I`m mourning
for the bright very early days dawning.
Now we notice it`s chilly at night
and still cold at first light.
Once the new season gets under way,
it`s not so bad, we`ll all say.
The winter warmers are springing up
even something to warm your cup.
So many gift ideas galore,
go and look there`s many more.
We all work hard at out craft,
I know some think we are daft.
For long hours we toil away,
through the night and the day.
We take pride in our creations
hoping they create a sensation.
A flurry of interest to make our name,
maybe some would like fortune and fame.
Me, I like to sell what I make,
I need the room for goodness sake!

Love Pink #FolksyFriday

My Folksy friday has a pink theme. After all the hullabaloo going on this week I wanted something cheerful, pretty and calming. Is pink calming? Yes I think so. There are so many gorgeous creations in pink available on Folksy that it will be a job too choose what to put on here. But I shall be brave and fearless and go look.
I hope you like what I`ve found for you today. If you get the chance do have a browse through the different shops to see waht other treasures you can find.
Things seem to have calmed down a little now on the forums I`m glad to say. There are still quite a lot of people who haven`t had definitive replies to what they can and can`t sell which isn`t very nice. You would have thought that clearly set out guidelines would have been the best way to go.
I had to buy more purple shimmery yarn yesterday... shock, horror.... they didn`t have any!! I thought that was it, the poncho would be put on hold until they got more in. But no, I discovered half a ball in the bottom of a bag and used that. For the rest of it I will just have to do without purple. It is coming along nicely again. I now have several projects on the go again.... Oh dear. I just keep getting new ideas and have to start then before I forget, once started they are indelibly lodged in my brain.
I need more hours in a day. So much to do and so little time.
I wanted to update the websites yesterday but ran out of time. The grandchildren came for tea so I spent time in the morning making a lasagne. I like to have something prepared ahead so that I can spend the time with them instead of in the kitchen. We had a lovely time together lots of fun and laughter.

A storm is not just for the weather
it comes when we`re at the end of our tether.
We can endure so very much
then get set off by a touch.
It builds and builds, gets tamped down,
such a weight that makes us frown.
Then all it takes is a tiny spark
from one who thinks it a lark.
The straw that breaks the camels back
that means we can no longer hack,
whatever it is that`s going on,
now it overflows till it`s done.
The storm breaks in magnificent style
but then it`s been building for a while.
For a time it crashes and bangs
occasionally showing it`s fangs.
Some are long, others are brief
creeping upon us like a thief.
Then it blows itself out on a sigh
and we gratefully say bye, bye.
Glad to enjoy the peaceful calm
that is like a wonderful balm.
It often leaves debris in it`s wake
sometimes the feelings are hard to shake.
But folk pick themselves up and carry on
often better than before, once the storm is done!

Moody Blue #Handmade #Folksy

Oh dear, there`s a bit of a furore going on at Folksy. They seem to have suddenly decided that all sorts of sellers no longer qualify under the handmade rules.
Apparently I am covered as even though yarn is mass produced it is okay to use it. Phew. I am also covered on the pattern bit too. See, not being able to follow a pattern is obviously now a good thing. I am so glad they make them appear complicated and I never managed to follow one from the start. Woo Hoo!!!
Joking aside, it`s very sad to see so many sellers leaving. It certainly isn`t good publicity for the site when so many people are up in arms about their treatment, because then it is the talk of Facebook and Twitter too. I do hope it all gets sorted out and we don`t lose any more lovely people.
Enough of that for now, will keep you posted.
Not really sure what to put on here today, with all the goings on I haven`t given it much thought. I will go and have a look and see what I can find.
You`ll be glad to know that I finally got my haircut. Yay!!! I also bought some much larger knitting needles. Not the massive ones, but much larger and I shall be having a go with them.
The Poncho is being edged now, but it`s not reeeeally finished... it needs a bit more, but I`m not sure what exactly. I think I went about it the wrong way and after all the work I`m not taking it out, not yet anyway. I will give it some thought because I love how it looks so far, apart from being unfinished.

So there I was, feeling blue,
just didn`t know what to do!
So I went for a look around
and just see what I found.
First I found a Fairy Door,
I`ll go for cute, look for more!
So I looked for inspiration
came across another creation.
Then a pattern began to appear,
not what I intended, oh dear!
Every single thing I chose,
yes, it really all goes
together so very well,
there is a theme can you tell.
Now the colour matches my mood
and that really gives me food
for thought, as I hadn`t meant
to have a theme, cos` inspiration went.
It got up and went out the door,
I just wasn`t inspired any more.
Far too sad at losing friends,
I hope Folksy quickly makes amends.
Before we lose anymore good folk
it really is not a joke.
We like lot`s of diversity,
it makes better shopping you see!

Spooky! #Handmade #Folksy

Was weary last night after a hectic day at work and totally lacking inspiration. So I trotted off to Folksy still without a clue what to have on here when inspiration struck in the form of a pumpkin, followed by a witch and a black cat. So I thought why not. I did wonder if there would be much Halloween stuff about as yet, but then noticed a seller saying they had sold out of pumpkin decorations and had to make more. That did it... Halloween went into the search and...... there were loads. Relief!!
Yes I know it`s early as yet and halloween isn`t until the end of October but lots of folks like to be organised and get in first for a greater selection. Clever them, I say.
As I said work was busy yesterday, I did some crochet before work and in the evening. All the pink gloves were finished the day before, just got a pair of mitts in Navy and Blue to finish. I shall probably make some more in different colours too.
I`ve been making something else that is a gift and also getting on with the poncho once more.
Today I am once more going to attempt to get my hair cut. If they are too busy and the wait is more than 10 minutes then I shall lop it off myself. I am not going to look at any yarn, mainly because my hubby will be at home and see me return with it, I can imagine the look and comments I will get. There is also the fact that I am running out of space to keep it all.

Be careful going out on Halloween,
there`ll be strange things to be seen.
Zombies stomping through the night
dripping blood, what a sight!
Ghosts all pale with black eyes
all loud wailing and sighs.
Pumpkins with a life of their own,
oh my oh my, haven`t they grown.
Stalking through the night, black cats
with their witches in pointy hats.
Skeletons with glowing bones,
don`t they look odd, holding phones.
Strange coloured skin, green and white
all glowing eerily in the light.
Little ones doing trick or treat,
looking so cute, can`t be beat.
We put a pumpkin in the window,
so they come knocking cos` they know,
we are taking part in it again this year,
plenty of treats, not tricks, no fear.
The grandchildren come to call
and that`s why we do it all!
