Stars #FolksyFriday

Looking at the stars the other night I started to make up some verse, just a few lines, that I wrote down. Then I looked at them again and a few more lines were added and made me decide to do stars as a theme for my Folksy Friday. I imagine I have done stars at some point or other but cannot recall when. I could probably scroll down and look for past titles but there are so many now that it would take far more time than I have to spare. So I`m happy to go with it being a long while, if ever, since I had Stars as a theme.
I put Stars into the search box on Folksy and came up with a lot, over 100 pages. That`s a lot of items to look through. I tend to skim quickly until something catches my eye then I`ll pause to look closer. I do like to keep as much variety as possible as I think it makes for a more interesting blog, for me to do and you to read.
Busy day yesterday. Had to go into the city for some things I needed, my least favourite task. I think it probably ranks very low, like ironing. Not really sure what would be lower... I`m digressing. The only time I want to go into the city is when I need yarn. You would probably say that with my vast stocks I shouldn`t ever need yarn and theoretically you should be right. There is however always the odd time when you get asked to make something and for some reason don`t have that particular shade or even colour at all. And you know me always happy to buy more. Although at the minute I am buying beads. Have bought some and am looking for more.
Note to self: Really must try and restrain myself.
Today I am off to Milton Keynes to visit family for the weekend. I`m really looking forward to it and although I will miss the computer, it is more of a break without it. I shall get lots of new creations made.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Twinkle twinkle little star
how I wonder what you are.
You`ve seen so very much
though you`re to far away to touch.
How do you make the colours I see,
are they there just for me?
You sparkle and glitter so bright
so beautiful for such a tiny light.
I stand and stare at the dark blue,
a velvet canopy that surrounds you.
There are so many stars up on high
but you`re the brightest in the sky.
Tell me please what have you seen
and I want to know where have you been.
This universe is so very vast
it seems to be made to last.
We reach upwards toward the stars
write books about Venus and Mars.
We have a need to explore
to learn and find out more.
We want to colonise planets far away
and I believe we will some day.
The stars they have a sparkling allure
exploration and travel the only cure!!

Team Craft Delights #Etsy

I decided not to go with a theme, as such, today. I had a look through the listings of the different teams I belong to on Etsy and added whatever caught my eye, whether it was the colours, the beauty, the cuteness or I just loved it. I belong to a few teams, The Crafty Folk, The Crazy Advertisers, Etsy UK, Made in UK, Promoting and Supporting, America Canada England Australia and New Zealand, Uk Etsyers and Norwich A fine City. Ahhh.. actually I belong to several.... I hadn`t realised until I put them down how many I am a part of. I like to do my bit and look through the listings though whenever possible, tweeting, pinning and faving them. I also like to show them on here so that more people get to see these wonderful crafts.
Yesterday morning I looked after my youngest grandson, and then took him to pre school for the afternoon session. I got some photos taken, did some crochet and then we picked up the 5 yr old grandson from school. Did a bit of food shopping, some computer work and that was it, the day gone. I did pretty much get done what I wanted to get done, although I wanted to make a start on some weekend blogs as I shall be away for a few days. Still maybe I will get the chance today, although it`s filling up fast.
Still never mind I`m sure it will all get done, it usually does.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

I woke to a world all white and crispy
better than creeping mist all wispy.
A blue sky and horizon of dusky rose.
A spectaular sunrise do you suppose?
I`m watching and waiting, all ready
for the sun`s rise, oh so steady.
Here it comes, a gentle glow
brightening up, oh so slow.
Now there are creeping fingers of gold
this sight will never get old.
Those fingers they touch here and there
in all high places wanting to share
that golden warmth that heats the day.
A fabulous start, is there any other way?
It creeps across the land touching the frost
not even melted yet, all is not lost.
Like diamonds the frost glitters and glows
as that golden light over it flows.
The edges are starting to melt
now that the land has felt
a gentle warmth from the rising sun
it`s daily work has just begun.
The birds approve, singing loud
of this sky without a cloud.
The day has now truly begun
and the night is finally done!

Mad March Makers #Folksy

Decided it was the turn of Folksy creators today in the form of the March listing club, the March Makers. Perhaps that should be Mad March Makers? Niow I think of it that`s a very good title for today. We all have to be slightly mad to keep frantically creating as well as doing everything else.
There have been so many gorgeous new creations that it`s a hard job to choose what to show you. If you want to see more from the March Makers you`ll have to pop along to the Folksy forums and have a browse through the threads for the last few days to see what`s on offer.
Yesterday I was at work, busy, busy as always. I still crocheted in my lunch hour and in the evening. I find it very relaxing and therapeutic. I`m still seriously considering how much yarn I can secrete in my suitcase when I go on holiday. I I don`t take some I think I may have serious withdrawal symptoms. How can I properly relax without it now?
I`m still not happy with the pictures I have taken of the shimmering blue wrap, so it`s not listed yet. Will have to try for some more a bit later in the week. I have been looking at beads as my bead supply is getting quite low, well not that low, but fairly low. Have actually found some in the right size just need more in different colours now. The seller has only two colours in the right size as she is just selling off surplus, so will have to look some more. Can`t wait for her to list them so I can get them. I have ideas for them already.
Must stop waffling so much and get on with the rhyme.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

A fluffy white against the blue,
then a much darker one that flew
through the blue of the sky
then a wisp, more like a sigh.
I love to watch the clouds chase,
have to keep an eye in case
they all turn dark bringing rain
then we`ll sigh `oh not again`.
I like it best when they are fluffy
seeing shapes, nothing stuffy.
A duck, a dragon and a horse
and a lot more of course.
Some you have to work hard to see
others spotted instantly with glee.
An angel with a pair of wings
until another cloud flings
itself into the mix to redesign
making something else that`s fine.
Sometimes there are lakes and mountains
although I`ve yet to see fountains.
Building castles in the air,
enjoying the fun without a care.
I love to set free my imagination
watching the clouds with fascination!

Easter Delights #Etsy

I was totally without ideas for todays blog. I had decided to add random items that caught my eye when I looked at a treasury I was in. Adding it to treasury promotion threads I ended up looking at more treasuries and that was it, the bug bit me again. For those that don`t know, a treasury is a collection of creations that are put together to a theme.
I decided to do The Easter Bunny brings Easter Eggs. Just an urge that overcame me. I had thought before I decided the theme that I would put them all on here. I usually try for more variety on here than that, so decided against it, once I had finished it. It`s here if you want a look.
@http://www.etsy.com/treasury/MTE3NDIwNjJ8MjQ3NjMzNzI1Nw/the-easter-bunny-brings-eggs?index=0
Anyway I was still fired up with the thought of Easter so I decided to do an Easter blog anyway. I thought it would make a nice change, be rather cute and of course, Easter isn`t that far away. So you can probably expect a few more between now and then.
I was at work yesterday, busy but having a laugh too, which is just how it should be.
I`ve started a new wrap in a Black shimmering yarn which should be nice. Even though I haven`t yet listed the other one I finished. Or the beaded glass covers. I haven`t quite finished the set in bamboo yarn, beaded covers and coasters, there is still one more cover to have the beads sewn on. They take quite a while to do as there are so many. With hindsight the beads should have been sewn onto every other loop but it`s a bit late now with one finished. They are a good size though so will fit a large glass or even a jug. Not sure I will part with them yet though, they look rather fab with the light blue and dark grey together and assorted blue beads. There are more beads on each one than you get in a necklace. Ooops. I do get a bit carried away.
Anyway, enough waffle, time to rhyme.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

It`s time for the Easter Bunny
I hear he is quite a hunny.
He brings Easter eggs for you,
why not come and have a view?
He brings the eggs in spring
in the hope that we will sing.
Now Easter is getting very near
you can tell it`s almost here.
Cute bunnies and chicks abound
with easter eggs all around.
Fluffy, crocheted, knitted and felted
none of these are likely to be melted.
Easter eggs and a chocolate bunny
they all look so cute and funny.
Delight and laughter everywhere,
a lovely family time to share.
Lot`s of children having fun
until the holidays are done.
Endless chocolate in theur tummy
what could be more yummy!
