L is For ... #FolksyFriday

Folksy Friday today and the first one of the New Year. I am continuing the alphabet theme at the minute and today is the letter L. Now writing that I can see that I could have had Letter too.
Mind you today was comparatively easy. The words flowed out after the first couple and I had quite a lengthy list to pick from for a change. Every word I chose had loads of creations for me to chose from, so all in all it went really well.
So here we go again. L is for Leaves, Lemon, Lion, Lavender, Lips and London.
A good variety of topics and crafts. I hope you enjoy my choices today.
I have decided to slow down on the blogging a bit as it does eat a lot of time. I easily spend 2 - 3 hours each day, if not more, on the creating of it without all the advertising etc.
So Friday`s blog each week will be here Friday and Saturday. Sunday will be a one off. Monday`s will stay for Tuesday and Wednesday`s will be here Thursday as well.
I will try this out and see what happens for the next few weeks. I am hoping it will give me more crafting time which seems to be in short supply at the minute. Although to be fair time is in short supply all round.
Anyway it`s an experiment worth trying. Although in a week you could see them suddenly appearing every day again. I know what I`m like and have tried cutting down before. I could well be addicted to it.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Getting into the swing of it now,
no more mopping of the brow.
Because of this letter L
for a while I won`t dwell
or panic about what to do
or what to put on here for you.
After two, the words flowed
it was easy and never slowed.
Getting the words then moving on
not a single solitary false one.
So great when it all goes right
rather than casting a blight
over something that should be fun
happily worked on till it`s done.
We have lemons, lions and lavender today
all more gorgeous than words can say.
Finished off with London and Lips
from crafter`s who could give great tips,
on what to do and what to make
and how long each item would take.
It all takes a lot of time and skill,
so please support handmade, if you will!!

K is For ... #Etsy

Here we go again, this time it`s the letter K. This one really taxed my brain I can tell you.
While I was at work yesterday I even had my colleagues trying to think up some ideas for me. They did quite well except I left the list at work which wasn`t much help, although I did recall a few of them.
I was reminded of some when I put K into the search on Etsy. I try to start out with more ideas than I need because there are always a few that don`t match up to expectations as far as finding suitable items of interest.
Anyway, now I have the ideas it`s time to find the creations for you to see and browse through.
Okay then, here we go again. K is for Knife, Kite, Kitten, Kindle, Kaleidoscope and Key.
Kindle is of course Kindle cases, just as many of them are pictures on items. I hope you enjoy my choices today.
As I said earlier I was at work yesterday and that came hard after having the time off. The last time I was at work was the Saturday before Christmas so it was a nice break.
Funny though, I don`t find it half as tiring working for myself at my own business even though I do much longer hours.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Back at work yesterday
on a day that was very grey.
After a glorious red sunrise
the later rain wan`t a surprise.
The brain was working on this blog,
the times when it wasn`t in a fog.
It worried away at the letter K,
at different angles, having a play.
First came kitten and then knit,
I toyed with the idea of craft Kit.
Well any sort of kit I suppose
it`s the sort of idea that grows.
Younger brains at work and up came key
keep going, more, was my plea.
A brilliant one, Kaleidascope,
now I was beginning to have hope.
Knife and Kindle followed by Kite
and finally the end was in sight.
Back home, it all went quite well,
only a few ideas didn`t gel.
So here it is in all it`s glory
yet another alphabet story!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! #Etsy #Folksy

Happy New year to you all.
I love new Year, there`s something about it that really strikes a chord. It`s the possibilities and potential to do and be anything.
Yes I know you can say that at any time and on any day of the year but somehow we don`t. It takes a New Year to make us think of past events, triumphs and failures and decide that this year will be better.
Many of us take the time between Christmas and New Year to evaluate our lives and work and consider where we want to be at the same time next year.
I`ve been working on mixing my art and sayings, feeling nudged or even pushed a bit in that direction by unseen hands.
Those that follow me on Twitter know that the sayings are `downloaded from the Universe, trying to make a happier world,` as it says at the top of the page.
I used to find it odd when I read some of them and didn`t recall writing them down but I`m used to it now.
Many people are the same, finding they have undiscovered talents and often `know` things before they are told or of events before they happen. It can be disconcerting at first and we do have a tendency to explain it away rationally, even those things that can`t be.
At this time in history I do believe many people are opening up and realising there is more to life than consumerism and much more to life than can be seen.
Many people hope and pray for miracles, little realising that if they really look, they are happening all around us every day.
Take some time each day to look about and really see what is around you. I`m sure the world won`t grind to a halt if you do, but it will make a lot of difference to the way you feel.
Watch a sunset or a sunrise, or both if you can. Every day they are amazing. Look out for a rainbow, it gives such a feeling of hope as though something special is about to happen. I always find them so magical and inspiring.
We all need to slow down our mad rush and hurtling through life that stops us being able to think about what`s important and most of all stops us connecting properly with ourselves and others.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Take a little time today
take it slow, have a play.
Take a look about, at the world
feel those feelings become unfurled.
Feel the joy rise within
feeling happy`s not a sin.
Happiness never comes from things you buy.
That will make the advertisers sigh.
It wells up from deep inside
giving you a smile a mile wide.
It makes you feel content
with no need to vent.
It gives a feeling of calm
that for your soul is a balm.
We need to remember what matters
before we all become Mad Hatters.
Pollution damages the world and us
protestors are told, don`t make a fuss,
by those who think wealth comes first
uncaring of those that die of thirst.
Now all bad deeds are coming to light
and many are beginning the fight
to save the world and the human race.
It`s time to really pick up the pace!!

I is For ... #Etsy

Today we have reached the letter I in the alphabet. Now I am expecting this one to be tricky today. Apart from impala I can`t think of anything usable for this letter. I`m sure there are many that will come to mind the moment I have finished this blog but right now all else deserts me.
I did what I often do and put the letter into the search and came up with several, now to see if I can find anything under those headers. Hmmm .... some fine, some not.
Here we go then. I is for Insect, Impala, Igloo, Ivory, Ivy and Initial.
Well I have learnt something new today. I have discovered that an Impala is also a car, from the pictures I saw it looks old but no idea if it`s still made.
I thought Ink would be a good one but apparently not. I kind of expected pens, quills etc but what came up was mainly inked words. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. A few other words weren`t any good, still I have enough for what I need.
Hope you enjoy my choices today.
Yesterday was actually sunny!!! All day pretty much, quite amazing. I was busy catching up on housework and getting two loads of washing done and dried outside.
I`ve also been working on my new project and getting very frustrated because it won`t work out as I want it to. I`m so fed up with it that I am considering consigning the lot to the bin.
I have made a bit of headway but considering I`ve been working on it, off and on for weeks, it should be much further advanced. Still hopefully it will come together all at once. Fingers crossed.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

The letter I was a tricky one
glad it is done and gone.
Lot`s of ideas to be had
on that part I was glad.
Didn`t translate and couldn`t use
half of them and I refuse
to do less than my best
though it put me to the test.
Finally got there in the end
nearly drove me round the bend.
Dreading reaching X Y and Z
I`ll be trying to stay in bed.
Oh no, there`s Q as well.
Are the ideas likely to gel?
I`ll think about that another day
cos I`m sure I will find a way
to get round the tricky bits
without going into hissy fits.
Today we have Insect, Impala and Igloo
with Ivory, Ivy and Initial too!!
