Craft Fair #FolksyFriday

A thread was started on the Folksy forum suggesting an online craft fair. Great minds think alike! There is of course the CRAFTfest online craft fair happening this weekend, so with lot`s of folk looking why not another.
I think this weekend is probably the busiest of the year as far as online shopping goes. Monday is of course known as Cyber or Black Monday, I believe.
So another craft fair online will be very good. Saving people time and effort being able to view things in one place with a quick flick. There were quite a few by the time I went to look so I started at the top and worked my way through. Next time I will continue from where I left off.
Got the wine bottle jacket finished and it quite made me smile. It looks a bit like a regal robe. I think it`s looks fun, but I`ll have to see what everyone else thinks. Have got a few ideas for different looks for the same thing, have to see how much time I have.
Got a few pics done yesterday, a cloche style hat I thought I had finished, I actually hadn`t. The flower still needed to be finished off and added.
I started and finished another set of festive coasters as they seem to be popular at the minute. These are the set of 6 with red sparkly yarn added in. Busy getting all my links added to my CRAFTfest stall and I think there are some things without descriptions still, but it`s nearly there. Was doing some of those yesterday morning, a bit short on time so didn`t get loads done.
If someone could just lend me a few hours that would be great. Something in the region of a hundred should do it.... Yep, that`s me being daft, was even sniggering when I wrote it.

good fun, whatever the weather.
Come along clothed or bare
doesn`t matter, we don`t care.
As long as you`re there, that`s what matters
not fussed if your clothes are in tatters.
Whatever floats your boat
and helps you across the moat.
Into our shops to view
all the goodies we have for you.

so gorgeous it`ll make folk stare.
Decorations for home and tree
take a peek and you`ll see.
Beautiful for home or a gift
bound to give someone a lift.
Why not give a beautiful card?
Though parting with them is hard.
A gorgeous hat to keep you warm,
bound to make customers swarm.
Amazing cosy for your teapot
be quick, there`s not a lot.
We are all time poor
rushing in and out the door.
Save time and energy, come to us,
your shopping will be done without fuss!

#NovemberNexus Crafts #Handmade #Folksy

Displaying gorgeous crafts from the November Nexus listing club today. So many fabulous items and so hard to decide what to show on here. I do try to have as much variety as possible so I hope you like my choices.
The sales are really starting to pick up now as we head ever faster towards christmas. If there is something you have had your eye on in any of the shops don`t leave it too long in case you miss out.
I was at work yesterday and came home to a sale. I made some more festive coasters and listed them this morning and they sold. Mind you I have to say they do look lovely and christmassy with a red sparkle yarn mixed in and the feathery white around the edges.
I decided to make a festiver wine bottle jacket, though it would be nice to jazz up the wine bottle at christmas parties and get togethers. Just adds an extra festive touch. will let you know how I get on with that.
After finishing my daughters hat and scarf I started and finished another hat, a cloche style this time. With that done I have started another one as well. Busy, busy.
Today will be doing up parcels and taking them to the post office. Babysitting my youngest grandson and his lttle friend and maybe seeing my daughters friend`s new twins. Can`t beat cuddling babies.

A beautiful star studded night
is such a glorious sight.
So often I stand and gaze in awe
wanting to be closer and see more.
What seemed big worries just drop away
because I know they won`t matter one day.
Such a view puts all into perspective
there`s no longer the urge to use invective.
They have been there for a million years,
seen it all and through millions of tears.
Something so big that feels like it`ll never end
but eventually we learn how to bend,
to go with the knocks and get up again
sometimes we wonder how we stay sane.
But it`s all part of life and learning
the low points and then the burning
need to learn, this hot flame of desire
a powerful urge to reach ever higher.
The stars have seen all this and more
because this is what life`s about and for.
We reach for the stars, they spur us on
and we keep on reaching until our lives are done!

Wish Upon A Star #Handmade #Folksy

For some reason the song `When you wish upon a star` keeps running through my head, so I decided that maybe doing a stars blog might get it out of my head. It`s been stuck there for days off and on, so it`s time it went methinks.
There have been a few beautiful clear nights over the last week and the stars have been so clear and bright they take the breath away. A stunning panorama that I never tire of looking at. When I stand and gaze my fill of the bright lights against the velvet sky, snatches of verse very often pop into my head. Many are forgotten again but every so often I write them down for use on here when inspiration drags it`s heels.
It was very misty and at times downright foggy yesterday in my part of the world. It did brighten up for a while as the sun burned off the mist, but as the sun went down it came back with a vengeance. Very chilly and damp, not nice at all.
Didn`t seem to do or acheive much of anything yesterday, although I did take the grandchildren, well three of them, into the city for a while. Offered to take the eldest but she was going with her friends. She did offer to let me hang out with her friends, bless her. I suggested that this would be very uncool and she agreed. Not the thing at fourteen to be hanging out with friends and grandmother tagging along. Just the thought makes me giggle. Mind you it would have been even less cool to have her three brothers there too. Tee Hee!!

When you wish upon a star
do you know where you are?
Do you feel very small
and wonder why you`re there at all?
Or does that magical view
do something special to you?
I see the the stars shining bright
and marvel at the stunning sight.
It makes my heart swell with love
staring at the vista above.
I don`t know many constellations,
the few I do is no consolation.
I feel I should know much more
isn`t this what my brain is for.
But when I just stand and stare,
then I don`t really care,
how lacking my knowledge is
because the view just makes me fizz.
I never tire of watching the sky
with twinkling stars, oh so high.
Such things make life worth living,
that and the season of giving!

November Nexus Spectacular #NewFolksy

Can`t stay negative for long, so back to being positive now. The new Folksy site is up and running and have heard people say they like it. Have also heard that it looks fresh and new, so that`s all good. Sales are going on, were even happening on Friday as soon as the site was back up and running, in spite of glitches so that`s all good too.
So now we are looking forwards and it`s onwards and upwards, especially as we are heading rapidly for christmas. Not long at all now, so if you haven`t started it`s time to get your skates on, metaphorically, that is. Well in reality too, if you have the urge.
Today in celebration of the new look site we have our very own November Nexus daily listing club on display, still going strong despite everything. With Natalie of NOfkants Curios holding steady at the helm and keeping us all on course. She has steered us through the stormy waters and out the other side into relative calmness. Now we can stop worrying so much about what`s going to happen and concentrate on christmas as we should be. Time to forge a head and bring you all the delectable crafts they have to offer.
I was at work yesterday so apart from being busy, not much to report. I did of course get another hat almost finished and a matching scarf started for my daughter. Fingers crossed that she likes them.
Threw caution to the wind last night and went out with my brother and his wife for a drink, haven`t done that for quite a few weeks.
