Wishes and Stars #Etsy

This display of wishes and stars was a treasury in the Crafty Folk Shop Promo Challenge for this week.
The featured seller this week is Zoe of Top Floor Treasures and she picked the Heart with Wish on it to be the featured item to build the treasury`s around.
Zoe`s bio says:
I am a self-taught artist, specialising in doodle art using paint and ink. I am a creative explorer, following my dreams.
I followed the link to her `About` page and this is what I found:
A creative explorer building my dreams.
Top Floor Treasures was born in 2009 out of a strong need for more creativity in my life. All of my art is infused with a delicious blend of pure love, deep meaning and positivity. I have this Big Dream.
I want to go and live and work in a place 400 miles away from here. It will take courage to go, and much money.
This place is near to the bright blue ocean, the scenery is a lush green and when I am there, I feel at home. At peace. It is where I need to be.
I want to go there and set up a little studio where I can do my work, and open the doors to other creative women to come in and work with me.
I used to feel despondent about the Big Dream. Like it would take nothing short of a big lottery win to get there.
But I have been inspired by some amazing people recently, who have shown me that I WILL get there. It may take years, it may not. Either way, each tiny step I take with my business leads me one tiny step closer to the Big Dream.
I am already on my way.

What could better than following a dream
although at times it can really seem
so far away and out of reach.
But look around, the world can teach
that all is possible if we just try
and keep believing, despite every, Why.
There will always be those that doubt
and try to stop you. What`s that about?
Many are afraid that your dream will come true
and maybe they`ll have to make that effort too.
Having big dreams is a good way to live
keeps us going and will always give
an extra incentive for the extra mile
and always give a reason to smile.
We often make a wish upon a star
and understand that the only bar
to achieving the dream is ourself.
So dust off those dreams on the shelf.
Take them down and bring them to life
they`ll always be worth any amount of strife!!

Hot Red #FolksyFriday

Was undecided what to have and then after seeing the weather forecast with it`s cold and frosts decided to have red because it`s a warm colour. Depending on the shade of course it can be hot and spicy looking rather than just warm.
I cannot believe the stunning display Autumn has produced this year, the colours are so vivid. It`s always the sight of the reds that draw me the most, so many different shades and mixed with gold, they are stunning. Sadly the trees are shedding very fast, much faster than last year and the sharp drop in temperature will speed it up even more.
I don`t like the cold but the sight of frost sparkling in the morning sun always makes me smile and lifts my spirit. Again it`s the colours in those diamond like sparkles that hold my attention.

A single leaf floats to the ground,
when I look they`re all around.
So many different shapes and hues
all shouting out their clues.
They`re saying Autumn is here
winter`s close behind I fear.
But first a glorious carpet of leaves
as nature changes and slowly weaves
her magic, bringing another season
to celebrate, as if we need a reason.
The colourful look of orange and yellow
their beauty as the year begins to mellow
into the much cooler months to come
when fingers and toes will turn numb.
It`s the reds now that are so bright,
so many shades, a glorious sight.
Whether on the ground or tree
they`re a magnificent sight to see.

Crafty Fun #Etsy

I was idly looking for inspiration, thinking of doing gifts for him or her, when inspiration did indeed strike. Kits! Craft kits. How about that for an idea?
If you have ever wanted to have a go at something but didn`t want to sign up for classes in case you didn`t like it after all, this is ideal. Instead of buying everything you need separately, you get a kit to try the craft out first. Genius or what?
I have included some Kids craft kits too. With winter coming it`s a great way to keep them occupied and having fun when they can`t get outside. Then they can always give what they have made as a gift. Grandparents especially love gifts the children have made, I know I do.
It`s also good to give a craft kit as a gift for someone. If you know a crafter it could be they have always fancied trying something different, so a kit is a great gift for them.
I`ve often talked to people who fancy trying something but always say they couldn`t do it. I always point out that they`ll never know unless they try.
If you are looking for something a bit different in the gift department or want to have a go yourself, then look no further. There are a good variety of kits here with everything you need in them. So why not treat yourself, something to do in the long winter evenings.

Owlishly Clever Crafts #Etsy

Haven`t had owls for a while and having spotted some very cute owl creations I decided to put them on here. Kind of a spur of the moment thing but I think you`ll agree that they look great.
I popped them all into a treasury once I had made my choices and then it was easier to transfer them all to here. Insteasd of search and transfer, they are all in one place. Simples...
Yesterday it was damp and misty but it did gradually clear although it was still grey and dull. I went out for coffee with a new friend, the second time we`ve met up and talked for three and a half hours. It was great fun. Theresa also has shops on Etsy and Folksy, Creative Treasures, just like me and discovering we live in the same city decided to meet.
We seem to have a lot in common, crafts of course being the obvious one. The more we chatted the more we seemed to have similiar interests and viewpoints. I expect you can tell that from the amount of time we spent chatting and laughing. The first time we met we talked non stop for three hours and the time on both occasions seemed to whizz by like minutes. It was great.
By the time I went home the mist was creeping back in and by the evening much of the surrounding area had disappeared. Very careless of me to lose it like that.

The mist was creeping along the ground
silently and muffling all sound.
Slowly distant trees vanished
then closer things as though banished.
Tendrils crept here and there
wandering softly without a care.
It became a world much smaller
as every single thing that was taller
shrunk, then disappeared from view
and that was certainly my cue.
Go in and shut out the creeping night
close the curtains against the sight.
The spookyness of the damp mist
curling round everything like a fist.
A dampness that permeates everywhere
getting in and chilling without a care.
Light has gone, it can`t get through
this cold mist that`s just like glue.
It clings and covers with it`s damp chill.
It`ll be gone soon, or I hope it will!!
