#Art Galore #Handmade #Folksy

Here we are again and many of you are cheering because the weekend is here. What will you do? Housework, relaxing, go away, lots of sports, crafting or will you be like me and off to work. I don`t work all weekend, just today, but it`s funny how it doesn`t feel like a weekend even when you only work half of it.
I remember when a weekend was a time to relax, spend time with the children and even lay in. Now lay-ins are a distant memory and the children are all grown up, the eldest is married with four children of her own. The eldest grandchild is 14 yrs old now, but it doesn`t seem five minutes since she was born. Come to that it doesn`t seem five minutes since my daughters were born. Where does the time go? Always so busy, busy, rushing here and there from the time we open our eyes. Although I can`t talk really as I would rather be busy than doing nothing.
Hopefully I will do some painting tomorrow. Will have to see how it goes. I have also got to do some photography as I have some things waiting to be listed. I was reading a thread on the forum about photographing items, most were saying what a chore it is to do. Getting the light right and the background, then making sure the colours are true. Often it looks fine on the camers and then once on the computer just doesn`t look right. Very often I get comments in the feedback saying how much better something is, whether crocheted, knitted or a painting, in reality, so much better than the picture. I seriously need to improve my photography skills.
The art on Folksy seems to be getting better and better as you will see when you scroll down and look at the delectable art on offer. There are so many wonderful talented artists in all sorts of mediums.
As ever, to see a larger picture or a description just click on the picture to go directly to that item in the shop.
ENJOY!

I haven`t painted for a while
I haven`t found a real style.
I play with this and that
sometimes ending up with tat.
I really do love to paint.
I think my hubby is a saint.
He puts up with yarn everywhere
and pictures and paint here and there.
I lose time till he plaintively asks,
are we eating? Then I get to my tasks.
He doesn`t cook at all you see
if we want edible, it`s left to me.
Since I rediscovered my creative side
I let so much else, like housework, slide.
Cooking is something that has to be done,
it`s become a chore no longer any fun.
I used to read a lot, 8 books a week,
but now it`s creating fun I seek.
You can tell Folksy folk love their art
from their creativity they wouldn`t part.
They do what they love and love what they do
making wonderful creations for all of you.

#Weddings #FolksyFriday

Here we are Friday again and many of you are cheering because the weekend is almost upon us. Maybe you are getting married this year or next and are in the throws of organising a wedding. So much to do and think about. Colour themes, invitations, table cards and plans, reception and so much more. That`s without dresses, bridesmaids, guests and who goes to the day time or evening events.
If that`s you, in all the mad flurry don`t forget that it is about the two of you. Sometimes weddings can take on a life of their own with relatives wanting a say. That`s very nice if they want to help but ultimately the day is yours and decisions on the way it should be, should rest with the bride and groom.
Take time too, to enjoy the process, as hopefully it won`t happen again. When the big day gets here, refuse to get flustered by anything, just enjoy the day.
I can still recall my wedding day clearly, even though it was nearly 36 yrs ago, I loved every minute of it. There were minor things that went wrong, he wasn`t at the church, oh dear. The bridal car didn`t turn up, luckily the bridesmaids chauffeur came back for me. Little things that made no difference at all but were amusing to relate later.

A wedding day takes such hard work
it`s something we`re not inclined to shirk.
We all want to have that perfect day,
except everyone wants to have their say.
It all starts with a marriage proposal
hoping it doesn`t end with a marriage disposal.
Then it`s a flurry of who to invite
some you would rather stayed out of sight.
Then bridesmaids or not and the best man
a carriage, a car or a relative`s van.
Which Invitations and wedding favours,
what to choose and what sort of flavours.
There`s the reception of course and which venue
when that`s decided, time to choose the menu.
Very important, don`t forget the cake
and what sort, for goodness sake.
A garter, a headdress, a veil or not
it all swirls around in the melting pot.
But the only important thing for you
is remembering the all important, I DO!!

#Mad March Hares. #Handmade #Folksy.

It`s the Mad March hares here today. We must be mad to work like crazy to list something new everyday. On the other hand it does motivate you to keep going and come up with new ideas. Seeing others having sales also encourages you to try that bit harder to encourage sales in your own shop. Well I know it encourages me anyway.

It`s the March Hares on here today
for all of March they`re here to stay.
Madly making such wondrous creations
every one, delicious delectations.
I see and want to learn a new skill
if I find some time I really will.
Right now I am very time poor
crocheting till my fingers are sore.
Blogging and listing take up my time
but it`s only minutes to make up a rhyme.
Promoting`s the biggest time stealer of all
what to do first, the trickiest call.
There`s no time to paint, that makes me sad
but I`m still creating, it`s not all bad.
I`m pretty sure we`re all in the same boat
trying to juggle and keep everything afloat.
So are you looking for a gift today
or just browsing in case, having a play.
Don`t forget Mothers Day will soon be here
buy somehing unique that isn`t too dear.
If you`re like me, it`s birthdays galore,
then when those pass by, you have some more.
On Folksy you`ll find all you need
pressies galore, oh yes indeed.
Spring is coming, give yourself a treat,
you don`t even have to wear out your feet.
So off to the shops to browse and view
these delectable delights made just for you!!!
