Crafty Folk Showcase #Etsy

I decided that today I would show more of the Crafty Folk delectable items. For those that don`t know this is a daily listing club on Etsy that I have joined, now that I have re-opened my shop on the Etsy site.
I say re-opened but it was never actually open for long before. At the time I was being rather adventurous, too adventurous as it turned out, because I was still too new to all of this at that time.
Of course though, as with anything, once you get used to it all everything becomes so much easier. So of course with all the debacle on the Folksy site just before Christmas, it seemed a good idea to diversify a bit more.
For those that were unaware, they decided to upgrade the site at the busiest time of year and amazingly removed some of the most popular parts...hmmm. There were many `glitches` in the following weeks which didn`t help matters at all, but I do have to say that now it seems to be running smoothly once more.
Nevertheless it still seems a good idea to have the shop on Etsy, especially as there are so many lovely people that I am already familiar with. Seems almost like a home from home.
Yesterday was beautiful day, sunny and bright and I did manage to take a few photos of finished items. I hang my head in shame because I still haven`t put buttons on the collar I finished. On the plus side I have two almost finished pairs of fingerless mittens. And... so many ideas for new things that I don`t know where to start first.
I still haven`t made a start on my candle making, or watercolour painting or glass painting either. All projects in the pipeline.
I have had a busy day though. Housework, yuk, collecting the littlest grandson from nursery and babysitting a while and then picking up the 5 year old grandson from school. A trip to the post office, a trip to the shops and some crocheting all got fitted in too, so it`s no wonder I didn`t start any new projects. Hopefully next week.
Ooops, didn`t mean to waffle so much. Rhymne time!
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Now I have to write this rhyme
because it`s getting late and it`s time.
Really not sure what to put
maybe something about a foot?
Maybe I should strike a pose
would that help cold fingers and toes?
Not really, I`m fairly sure
that`s something to endure.
I`d like to write something profound and deep
words that people would want to keep.
But nothing really comes to mind
that`s always the way I find.
To be a real poet would be great
but somehow I don`t think that`s my fate.
Especially after reading all this
perhaps I should give verse a miss!
Ahhh, I meant to write about the stars
with even a bit about Mars.
No, not the Mars bars you twit,
the sort you gaze at as you sit
feeling the world is alright
if it contains such a wondrous sight!

Winter Blues #FolksyFriday

I saw a thread on the Folksy forums asking people to show their winter blues and I was so taken with it that I decided to add some of the things from that thread.
Not really sure why we call it the `blues` when we feel down as personally I find blue very relaxing and calming.
I hope you`ll find my choices enjoyable and have a relaxing time browsing through the items on show and through the shops of the sellers too.
Yesterday I was busy making a fish pie with lots of salmon, cod, smoked haddock and prawns, boneless of course, all done in hollandaise sauce and topped with mash. Have to say it was yummy and the four grandchildren enjoyed it too when they came for tea. It was a noisy and fun couple of hours, with lots of horseplay as well as siting down doing puzzles with the little ones.
The wind was very strong here again yesterday and it rained a couple of times. The wind had a really chilly bite to it as well, not nice.
I finished the beret I was making and started a pair of fingerless mittens, they are almost done too and yes I know I should have put the buttons on the collar I finished before starting anything else. It is still waiting. If only I had a finishing fairy...
Okay enough waffle, it`s rhyme time.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
RELAX and ENJOY!!!

Last time that like this the wind blew
was a time my trampoline flew
through the air, must have been a sight
a 13 foot trampoline in flight.
It got wrapped around a tree
not a pretty sight to see.
Very lucky, there was little damage
what there was we could manage
to replace and then put right.
That was really a terrible night.
Now the trampoline is chained down,
no more can it play the clown.
Bolted to concrete now it stays there,
a rattling of chains instead of a glare.
Some folk say fences are flying away
hope they find them another day.
Electricity off, now that is bad,
no heat or light for some, very sad.
Amusing when a bin decides to run
will be lots of runaways when this is done.
Cleaning up will be quite a task,
if you need help, just ask.
In times of need folk pull together
and it doesn`t matter whether
you`ve been at loggerheads in the past,
things like that should not last.
All pull together to help someone`s plight
it`s the good thing to do and oh so right!

Crafty Folk #Etsy

As mentioned in a previous blog, I have re-opened my shop on Etsy and joined a daily listing club there called Crafty Folk.
Etsy is a big site and last time I opened a shop I found it all very bewildering, although to be fair I was still very new to all this at that time. I put things in the shop and hoped for the best, didn`t promote it or do anything really. Then when things delisted I removed the rest and closed it up. At that time I was still finding my way, still learning so much and finding an extra shop too much extra work. I am still learning now, the more I learn, the more I need to learn, it`s an ongoing process.
Now though, I am a little older and wiser, certainly older and I know that things don`t sell themselves.... if only. So I shall give it a good go this time, hence joining the listing club and see what happens. I`m sure that if I do without sleep I can keep it all going.... that was a joke.... I think. Well I can but try.
So in honour of the listing club, Crafty Folk, todays blog features items listed on there, from the wonderful sellers taking part.
Yesterday I was back at work, the first time since Christmas Eve. With the cold wind so blustery I didn`t relish the walk to work, but it wasn`t too bad. It was nice to catch up with everyone and find out how they all were and how their Christmas and New years went. As always it was busy and the day went quickly. Again as always, I took my crochet to work and got some done at lunchtime. I do enjoy it and find it relaxing. I am working on a beret at the minute and it is nearly finished. The day before I finished a collar and that needs buttons to be added, which I must do before starting anything else.... we`ll see.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Now I have joined the Crafty Folk
yes I have, it`s no joke.
Another listing club each day
will I still get time for play?
I`ve re-opened my Etsy shop
and it`s only a short hop
for you to go and view
things made especially for you.
Not much in there just yet
but I`m working hard to get
it filled up, so there`s more to see
and they`ll be lot`s of sales for me.
The other Crafty Folk have much,
their shops filled with crafts and such
wonders that you won`t believe
what a magic spell they weave.
So why not go there quick
all it takes is a click
of the mouse and you`ll be away
with a plethora of shops in which to play.
Have a wander, there`s much to view,
all these are made just for you!
