I`m A WiNNeR!! #Folksy

I took part in a giveaway that Edwina of `Handmade by Edwina` ran on her blog. It was a birthday giveaway as she has a birthday in July. I think Edwina`s bags are beautiful, so beautiful that I own one myself. Well actually I own two now.... because... wait for it..... I WON 1st prize!!! I was over the moon and almost turning cartwheels.... I danced about instead, not sure I could still do cartwheels. My husband thought I had gone mad..... again.
Those who read regularly already know that my family consider me eccentric, which is probably the nicest way of putting it.
Anyway I am digressing again.
I got a message the other day to say I was the winner, the next message told me it was posted and then.... it arrived the following day. What could be better than that, absolutely brilliant. I was amazed and delighted at the speedy arrival of my parcel. Then when I opened them I was even more delighted with such a veritable feast of goodies.

I very rarely enter blog giveaways, not quite sure why, but this one was a must, just couldn`t resist.

Now, I just enjoy making beautiful items particularly bags and purses. I love using lots of different materials, such as lace, braid, buttons, embroidery, applique to creat one-off, unique bags and purses that are heavenly. I hope you think so too!
I love to make other things too. I am a member of the Worcester Branch of the Embroiderer's Guild so embroidery is quite important to me, but I don't have the patience to spend time on pieces that require a long commitment. I like to get to the end of a project and enjoy the satisfaction of having made it!!

Lemon & Lime #FolksyFriday

This blog was inspired by seeing a Folksy front page made as a Pinterest board by a seller. It had lovely lemon and lime creations that look really fresh and summery. I did use one item from the board but all the rest are from searches.
Now we finally have some summer I find myself leaning towards summery items for the blogs. Probably because we have waited so long and the previous weather was so dire. I shall have to looking for more outdoorsy type crafts, gardens and beaches and picnics... Hmmm. Actually that`s a good idea, not sure if I have ever done a beach blog. Well that`s ideas for the next few anyway.
I had a message to say that I had won a blog giveaway I entered which is fabulous. The prize is a bag, address book and cards all made by Edwina from Handmade by Edwina. I have had creations of hers on here before and they are beautiful. I also already own a wonderful bag. Anyway, I shan`t go on about that now as I shall take pics and show you....
Yesterday I was looking after the grandchildren, well the little ones anyway. The 5 year old had been talking about going to the city in the holidays so he was excited to be going.
The day started cloudy and I thought summer had gone, but no, slowly it got brighter and the cloud cleared until once more we had a beautiful day. The children had a wonderful time rummaging around in their favourite shops. Then we had lunch out before returning home.
Today I will be looking after them again, well just two of them, as the older two are busy doing their own thing. I suspect we will be crafting of one sort or another. Before the holidays started I was picking up a few basic kits the younger ones could do easily. So hopefully they will have a fun time and enjoy the day.

There is so much more green
in the world than I`ve ever seen.
So many shades standing together
all down to this strange weather.
It`s only July and already begun
as though summer is already done.
The leaves are starting to turn
though there`s been no sun to burn.
Leaves already turning red,
summer had nearly been put to bed.
Now suddenly there`s a weather change
and happily we see it range
through to a summer high
with sunshine and blue sky.
So now we think of citrus,
summer drinks with no fuss.
Lemon and lime summery shades
who`s popularity never fades.

Sweet Treats #Etsy

Don`t know what to have today. I`ve had a look round and just can`t decide. Oh dear... sorry about this, but I`ve decided.
Just couldn`t resist such yummy treats. My stomach was rumbling the whole time I was adding the pictures, not to mention the searching through. Couldn`t help but linger over lot`s of them.
They aren`t, of course, all edible but try telling that to my stomach, made no difference at all.
I think you`ll agree though that they are all delicious... positively delectable treats. See if you can guess, at a glance, which are edible and which not. No cheatimg and looking at the shop names. See how many you get right.
Yesterday was another beautiful day in my part of the UK and I`m fairly sure it was in most of the country.
I went into the city early and got my hair cut. Going early means there isn`t a wait, or hopefully not. I lucked out and got mine done straight away. Had a quick look in a couple of shops, got some ice lollies for the children to put in the freezer, the lolloies that is, not the children. Then it was back home, do up a parcel for the post office and get it sent off. After that it was get to work on the computer. I did have a lovely interruption with three of the grandchildren visiting with my daughter, who was off to the beach with the youngest two. The two older ones didn`t want to go. The 15 year old was off out with her friends and the 13 year old went off with his friends and then returned to me for tea.

I have lots of yummy treats for you
all sweet things for you to view.
They aren`t all that they seem
although all will make you beam.
Some are edible, some are not
but they all look really hot.
They will make your tummy rumble
and any resolve will crumble
as you rush to get something to eat
very likely a sweet treat.
If you are trying to be healthy
no good having peeks that are stealthy.
Better not look any lower
the sight could make you glower.
Soaps much to nice to waste
on washing, but not nice to taste.
Though it`s tempting to try
instead I`ll just sit and sigh.
Candles so tasty and delectable
for some they could be collectable.
Oh to eat the chocolate and cake
without all the work of having to bake.
Now I have to eat something sweet,
I`m so hungry I must eat!!

Oranges & Lemons #Etsy

I realised I hadn`t done any treasuries lately and that I am getting a bit behind with team treasuries. As the winner of the team treasury competition was one I have featured before, I decided not to put that treasury on here. Not that I have actually got around to doing it yet, I seem to be chasing my tail just lately.... rushing around and getting nowhere.
This treasury competition randomly picks out a number from all the sellers that take part, unlike the other one when a treasury is chosen by the featured shop seller, who also chooses the item for treasuries to be made around. With this comp we can choose any item from the shop to build the treasury from.
Anyway this is for Dawn and Stu of `More Stash Please?`. The shop is a supplies shop, which is of course, always popular with crafters.
Stu says in his bio that he lost his wife to crafts long ago, Dawn, and decided to see what it`s all about. He says he can`t even draw a stickman so was drawn more to supplies and so the shop was born. Dawn has her own shop, Lilly`s Night Garden, regulars will have seen her delectable creations on here.
If you are a crafter you will love this supplies shop and find yourself buying as your imagination is fired and you lust after these wonderful supplies.
Do have a browse through all these wonderful shops if you get the chance, they are certainly well worth the time.

A few days ago it was raining
and we were busy complaining.
Now we have sun and heat
weather that just can`t be beat.
So now here is what I bring
oranges and lemons for a bit of zing.
Colours full of summer bright
that go with the sunny light.
Sparkling orange in a glass
or is this a flavour on which you pass.
Maybe lemon is more your taste
whichever it is don`t waste
the chance to sit outside
and sip your drink and bide
a while in the lovely sun
quickly before summer is done.
Wear these bright colours and glow
as you get into the summer flow
of lazy days and warm nights
clear and filled with stars so bright!!
