Love Red #FolksyFriday

Folksy Friday time again already. I have been thinking of spring but it`s become so cold again again that I am looking for warmth from any direction. I decided to go with red today because it is such a lovely vibrant and warming colour. It is cheerful and bright enough to make you smile on the coldest day. So I hope my choices today make you feel warm and happy.
As usual I have tried to find a good variety of creations for your delectation and delight on this winter day. With lot`s of occasions coming up, namely Valentine`s, Mothers Day and Easter, not to mention the usual birthdays and Anniversary`s, I like to find goodies that would make lovely gifts.
So much easier to buy online because you get quality, originality, no long queues to pay and no fighting your way through crowds. You just select pay and it all comes direct to your door. What could be easier or better?
I looked after my youngest grandson yesterday as is usual on a Thursday. I tried to get him to do something different but he wasn`t having it. He wanted to go on the bus. So I thought maybe we could go somewhere other than the city, but no, he wasn`t having that either. For once though he decided we could eat our lunch at home, so he chose some rolls, gingerbread men and sausage rolls to take home.
Definitely a man in the making because once home he eventually decided what he wanted in the roll, ham, but didn`t want anything else. So the gingerbread men and sausage rolls went home with him for his siblings to enjoy. Bless him.

Spring Flower Garden #Etsy

Having been at work and feeling somewhat weary I decided to see if I could kill two birds with one stone, metaphorically speaking of course.
With that thought in mind I had a look through the teams to see what treasury challenges were on offer and what there was to put in them. I have done a few treasuries this week but I wanted to do a different one. The On Fire team treasury looked like it had plenty of scope with the theme being colours of Roses. I looked through the treasuries already done so I didn`t duplicate a title and also to comment and fave for support of other team members. After all if I want support for my treasury it`s only fair that I reciprocate.
With the cold weather I find my thoughts turning to spring quite often with hope and wistfulness, not to mention wondering if it will ever get here. So I decided to have a Spring flower garden theme and then transferred them to here once it was finished. Result.
I was delighted with the beautiful creations I found and hope you enjoy them too.
Yesterday morning I did more needle felting, finishing a small picture and then making a start on the background of another larger picture, all before heading off to work. I`m hoping that I will soon get these made up and listed in my shop in time for Mother`s Day gifts, or Easter come to that.

This flower garden is so pretty
I almost feel I could be witty.
Almost of course is the key
cos even when I try, I can`t be.
Anyway lets get to the gorgeous flowers,
so beautiful they must have special powers.
At their peak in the spring
they can be used for many a thing.
Petals dried and used in soap
rosebuds too, there`s lot`s of scope.
Marigolds are used in creams
for skin conditions, so it seems.
Flowers look beautiful in the house
lasting longer if you thoroughly douse
their stems in water and lemonade
then they aren`t so quick to fade.
Flowers make us think of spring
but so does almost anything.
These will be great gifts for celebrations
any and all of these fabulous creations!!

Red & White Love #Etsy

I made a treasury and decided I really liked it and would put it on here. Not all the treasuries I make appear on here. It`s not that I`m not delighted with them, more that I have already decided on other themes at the time.
This treasury was for the Craftyfolk team`s Shop Promo Challenge in which an item from the shop is selected and we build treasuries around it. In this case the treasury was for Jill of jujucards and it is the second item shown below. I decided to go with the hearts theme and have Red and White after seeing the treasuries already done.
It is a Valentine type theme but then it is very topical at the moment.
Yesterday I did loads of housework, I badly needed a catch up and also caught up on computer work a bit. I was trying to print a card that for some reason just wouldn`t work, so after a few disasters I gave up. The card was going to be for my brother who is in hospital at the minute and I wanted to take it when I went to visit. Luckily I had a selection of cards I could choose from and used one of those instead.
I also managed to do some crochet but didn`t have enough time to get any needle felting done. Hopefully I shall get back to that today. I want to get on with the picture I started on Saturday morning before work. I am finding the needle felting very enjoyable and although it`s time consuming it`s great seeing the pictures take shape as I work.

Yesterday was dry but grey.
The blustery wind was having a play.
It teased at the trees whether big or small
bending them over so they seemed to fall.
The long line of washing was blowing
straight out, no sign of slowing.
I had to watch with careful eye
and you probably know why.
I didn`t want them to disappear
into various gardens far and near.
Because then the search would be on
quickly before they were long gone.
The wind plays havoc with so much,
damaging wherever it happens to touch.
Lifting and taking things far away
and not discovered till another day.
We British our love of weather is devout,
without it what would we talk about!!

February Folks #Folksy

Getting started earlier this month in the hope that it will remind me to include the listing club`s crafts during the month too. On Folksy this month the daily listers are called February Folks which has a nice ring to it and is very apt as well.
There are regular listers as well as some new `faces` which is nice, it`s great to have new people to add more variety. Although saying that I am noticing more and more that many of the crafter`s are diversifying which is great when browsing through the shops. Lot`s of added interest.
Yesterday was a very strange day weatherwise. One minute sunshine, then hail, snow and rain all within minutes of each other. It was also very cold, a bit of a shock after the milder temperatures we had for a few days. Not that it felt very mild with the wind chill factor.
I was at work yesterday but did manage to start a needle felt picture after my breakfast. I worked hard and fast for over an hour and made a good start on the background so I was very pleased with my efforts.

It really seemed like April showers
except there weren`t any flowers.
Bright sunshine and a sky of blue
of clouds there were only a few.
Minutes later black clouds flew in
wasn`t long before we heard the din.
Hailstones bouncing hard and fast
then just as suddenly they were past.
A bit of sun, then came the rain
we all sighed then, not again.
But no it wasn`t there for long
blown away by a wind so strong.
Then clouds with that unearthly glow,
yes, you guessed, they brought snow.
Such a mix and so very strange,
the weather contrasts, so much change.
Still there`s not much we can do,
we just have to endure, me and you
