Autumn Leaves #Etsy

I did a treasury for the new Crafty Folk treasury competition that runs from Thursday to Wednesday each week. Actually got in quickly, I think I may be catching up with myself. That could be only a rumour though.
I digress. Regular readers know that each week the winning treasury is picked by the previous weeks winner. Then the new person chooses an item from their shop for all those participating to build treasuries around. I have to say here that I am often amazed by the creativity of the themes and a bit envious of those minds that can come up with such innovative ideas.
So this weeks winner is Angela of ARC Jewellery.
Her bio says:
I am a jewellery designer/maker specialising in sterling silver creations; sometimes using semi-precious stones, shell, recycled pieces of timeworn pottery and tumbled glass. I like to make pieces that are simple for everyday wear yet stylish and eye catching.
I work from my small workshop at home, tucked away in the beautiful English countryside.
Angela says she has been making jewellery for many years since discovering an allergy to nickel and copper based fashion jewellery. She started making beaded jewellery on leather silk or cord until discovering and training in silver smithing.
The shop has a beautiful selection of jewellery well worth a browse, but I take no responsibility for any urge to buy.
All of these shops have a wonderful array of creations just waiting to be discovered.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

Winter is coming, heatings on,
long summer day`s are gone.
I tried to wait just a bit longer,
but the need for warmth was stronger.
Grey days are back again,
daylight hours are on the wane.
Leaves are turning glorious shades
as summer quickly fades.
Brown, orange, yellow and red
before you know it the trees will shed
them and they`ll float down,
to make the ground drown
in a crispy crunchy pile
to kick through and make us smile.
The squirrels they gather and hoard
for when they wake hungry and bored
on a mild bright winter`s day
the reason they squirreled it all away.
Despite the newly arrived chill
there`s lot`s about Autumn to thrill.

September Sellers #FolksyFriday

Today we are catching up with the daily listing club on Folksy, the September Sellers. It isn`t a big club with lot`s of members but it keeps going month after month with a different name each time.
Many nowadays are time poor and cannot make enough spare time to help with the promotion of all others so they don`t take part. It is very time consuming, time that could be spent making, which is of course much more enjoyable. Many of the crafters juggle full time jobs as well as families, not sure how they have any spare time at all. But I do believe creating is something crafters have to do and even if we have less sleep, we find the time.
Although it does take up valuable time, it also is a support system for the club members. We can report sales, complain of lack of them and tell of events in our lives, good or bad and know that someone is there to listen. Not to mention, offer cheers, congratulations or commiserations where needed. So it is so much more than it seems and I for one hope that it will continue and grow again as it deserves to.
Anyway, waffle over.... or maybe not.
Yesterday I took my youngest grandson into the city because he loves the bus so much. Now I didn`t mean to do it...... well.... maybe I did, but shouldn`t have. Oh dear, confession time, yes, I bought some more yarn. Well it was sitting there, looking gorgeous, begging to be made into something and.... and.... I just couldn`t help myself. Oooops.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!

I was awake before the sun,
still dark, night wasn`t done.
Slowly the sky turned lighter
very gradually getting brighter.
Still the sun didn`t appear,
the horizon it had yet to clear.
The sky began to turn pink,
then orange, quick as a wink.
Then began the slow rise
every sunrise a lovely surprise.
The colours amaze me every day,
more beautiful than words can say.
Now we have cold each morning
not helped by the days dawning.
As Autumn begins to bite
the sun really has to fight
to warm up the world
and tempt out those curled
up snug in their cosy bed,
who only appear to be fed.
Then once more the day flows
as the sun reaches higher and glows!!

Gift Ideas #Folksy

I hope you noticed that it said gift ideas and NOT Christmas gift ideas. Although to be fair lot`s of people I know are starting their shopping now. But many of us have lot`s of birthdays, anniversary`s and other special occasions to buy for long before then.
If that is you, then I hope this helps as a time saver for those occasions, not to mention you might find some Christmas gifts too. Nothing better than getting it all sorted, nice and early. I always used to get it done early when my girls were young, having a big family, but then several years ago somehow I was leaving it later and later. Nothing like a last minute panic. Since selling on line though and then blogging, I get to see lot`s of fabulous things and get them quick while I can. So nearer the time I just have to sort through them all, my stash, and select what is for which person. Sorted.
Yesterday was fun.... NOT! I spent three hours at the hospital with hubby for an appointment that lasted about 15 minutes if that. Still on the bright side I did make a good start on a new hood, so it wasn`t really wasted time. When we got back I took some pics for new listings, some turned out okay but a few were rubbish. I`ll have to retake those. Managed to edit a few but not many. It`s ridiculous. I`ve got all this stuff to list and I`m not making headway. Although I did get a couple of new things on Wow Thank You, so that was good.
Anyway, as usual I`m waffling.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
A hospital appointment isn`t fun
would rather have been out in the sun.
First we sat there a while
exchanging with others the odd smile.
off hubby went for a test or two,
was beginning to feel like a zoo.
Room was more crowded by the minute
that space definitely wasn`t infinite.
He came back we sat some more
looking longingly at the door.
An hour had passed, then another one
by this time we wished we were gone.
Had a chat to pass the time,
sat there making up the odd rhyme.
I really crocheted up a storm
sitting this long wasn`t the norm.
Then I began to jiffle, getting stiff
hard chairs, I was getting in a miff.
Got up for a bit and walked around
looked out the window, watched the ground.
Went back feeling better, managed a smile
could have done with walking a mile.
Three hours later we could finally go
if hubby was a horse, I`d have said whoa.
He almost galloped out of there
I was so pleased I didn`t care.
A cup of tea was calling, almost a shout.
We left wondering, what was that all about!!

Reflections #Etsy

You`ll be surprised to know that I did another treasury. But this time I got in early and was only the third person to do one for the featured seller.
Having looked in her shop, Amy of Amy`s Moving Castle, I spotted a beautiful photograph, the first one below, and decided to use that one. I loved the reflections, they were so clear and perfect, that I decided to go for that as a title and find more reflections. As you can see below I did just that and am pleased with the wonderful things I found to go with the original picture.
I always find reflections fascinating whether in photographs, art or mirrored. The scenery ones are always so amazing.
Had a busy day yesterday.... yes... I know, that`s shocking. As I had a whole load of ripe tomatoes I decided to make a tomato sauce. I made this for the first time last year at the end of the season to use up the red tomatoes. It was so tasty, I used it in all sorts of cooking, had to be careful not to add to much as it was very spicy. Hence deciding to make it again this year. I took all the ripe tomatoes off the plants and even used my yellow tomatoes as well. It cooked for quite a while and smelt wonderful, think it may be a bit spicy again. Had a real tang on the tomgue, mmmmmm.
Anyway they are all bottled up now and I may make some more if enough tomatoes ripen off. The rest I will use for chutney, green tomato chutney. So much better than letting it go to waste and the added bonus of knowing that it`s homegrown, so no pesticides.
Finally managed to list the two hoods I made, one on Folksy and the other on Etsy, but apart from housework not much else was achieved.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
Reflections in the sea
just fill me with glee.
A stuning vista with a lake
that you just can`t fake.
Mountains standing tall
or trees in Autumn or Fall.
A child kneeling so intent
leaning forward, back bent
as they see themself, then blow
the water to make it ripple and flow.
A pause then a shout of delight
as the reflection settles into sight.
See someone glance in a window pane
watch them preen or interest wane.
A quick hand to titivate the hair,
or turn away, not wanting to stare.
So many things reflect all around
so much that interests does abound!!
