I saw a Mouse.. #Etsy

I realised I hadn`t done a treasury for this weeks Crafty Folk treasury competition winner when I spotted some treasury links. As this starts Thursday I`m not quite sure why I didn`t notice. Anyway, today I rectified this oversight and decided I would also put it on todays blog.
The winner for this week was Dawn, her shop is Audrey`s Cat and her bio says:
Dawn aka "Audrey's Cat" loves vintage fabic ! I have a huge collection of vintage fabric ready to make into individual items just for you. Why "Audrey's Cat" ? - think "Breakfast at Tiffanys".
That Dawn loves her fabrics and making wonderful creations from them is very clear, you have only to browse her shop to see this. She has a fabulous and very diverse collection to choose from. Do have a browse through her shop as well as the other wonderful shops featured here.
Yesterday I seemed to do a lot but not get very far, although when I looked back I realised I had acheived quite a lot. Despite computer work and that nasty word `housework` I managed to finish off a few things and take some photos as well. I also picked up my youngest grandson from pre school and looked after him for a couple of hours before picking up the 6 year old from school. Picking them up is never a chore as I love to see their faces as they come rushing out full of smiles and ready for a big hug, just can`t beat it.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
I once had a little mouse
running round in my house.
Only once and just the one
and I really wanted him gone.
Usually I think they are cute
and can be quite a hoot.
But when they`re running round my floor
I long for them to go out the door.
But these on here today
are cuter than I can say.
All would be nice to own,
bet they`ll all soon have flown
off to new places to stay
once having found their way.
When these have found their new home
one thing they won`t do is roam.
Each creation is made just for you,
wonderfully, to give the crafters their due!

Gifts 4 Kids #FolksyFriday

Thinking about doing my Folksy Friday and what to show on here I had a look at the front page. There I spotted a section on Gifts for children and had a look through. Bingo, that was me decided. Not sure if I`ve ever done a blog with childrens gift ideas but if not then today is a first. Sometimes I think to myself that I`ll never find anything different but there is such a huge variety of handmade things available that I always manage to.
I`m always interested in seeing what`s on offer for children having four grandchildren with a range of ages. I look out for crafty things to do with them, especially the young ones. Although my 15 year old grandaughter loved the needle felting kit I bought for myself. She had a go herself and was hooked, said she wanted her own as did the friend she had with her. Just shows that crafts can capture a childs imagination at any age.
I looked after my 4 year old grandson yesterday and to my surprise, not, he wanted to go on the bus to the city. So we had a little wander and he decided he would like lunch there. After that we had a rummage in the pound shop and came home. One totally happy little boy.
In the evening my eldest grandson popped round to do my ironing and earn himself some extra pocket money. While he was ironing and I was busy on the computer we had a great chat that continued after he finished. He is interested in such a wide variety of subjects that it`s great conversation.

Thought I`d do a little ditty
about going on the bus to the city.
I think it was a bit behind
the giveaway`s the queue I find.
He drove off before the last one sat
the customer didn`t think much of that.
Muttering, he should wait till I sit down
aiming at the driver a great big frown.
He hurtled along at speed, then had to brake,
the next stop wasn`t far, for goodness sake.
He tried to hurry them all along,
wasn`t their fault, it was wrong.
Off we went, swaying from side to side
passengers sliding, what a ride.
The later he was, the more that got on
moving so slowly, one by one.
When we arrived many knuckles were white,
a few pale faces, some wanting a fight.
The elderly got off as fast as they could,
passengers not waiting politely as they should.
We`ve all been on a bus that`s late
before getting on, comtemplate your fate!

Crafty Creations #Etsy

Thought I would show you a selection from the Crafty Folk team on Etsy today as I showed the Setember Sellers yesterday. Amazing crafts, handmade and Vintage appearing on a daily basis. Just when you think that there can`t possibly be anything different up pop a whole new range of delectable delights.
If you are anything like me you are on the lookout for gifts with a difference. Maybe you haven`t started buying yet for Christmas or perhaps like me you are sensible and get something that would be perfect as soon as you see it. I learned the hard way that if you go back later it may well be gone, best strike while the iron is hot.
I was at work yesterday and it was busier than usual. Managed a bit of crochet at lunchtime and more in the evening. Making a few more Christmas and Halloween goodies.
Over the weekend I was away I managed to get a big chunk of my tax stuff sorted, now I need to get stuck into the rest. Big Sigh.... be glad when it`s done. Dtermined to do it earlier next year.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
I woke up to quite a chill.
7 degrees didn`t thrill.
Feels like Autumn`s been skipped
and winter has craftily nipped
in straight after summer
now that is a real bummer.
It was however quite a bright dawn
that I watched with a giant yawn.
The day then went from bad to worse
enough to make the happiest curse.
The rain came down in sheets
thundering as it beats
against the window, flowing down
in rivers, the plants will surely drown.
So heavy it will beat them flat
how will they survive that?
Surprisingly they always revive
happily nodding to show they are alive.
Nature never fails to surprise
and will continue to, I surmise!

September Sellers #Folksy

Looking through the daily listing club on Folksy I decided it was time for you to have a peek at their new listings. Obviously I can`t put them all on here, not even a day`s worth, but it gives you the chance to see a selection of them. I am noticing more and more Christmassy things appearing now and strangely with the dip in temperature yesterday it doesn`t seem too soon.
Mind you lot`s of people are like me and buy as they go along in the months leading up to it. Have a browse through the shops if you get the chance, there are so many gorgeous things appearing that it will definitely be worthwhile.
Had a great time at the weekend and made lot`s of new things, some for Halloween and some for Christmas. I have been listing a few Christmassy items over the last couple of days so a few more won`t hurt. Halloween is a different one for me but it`s great to do something different. You know what they say `A change is as good as a rest`, Not quite sure who the `they` is but `they` do creep in everywhere.
As usual, to see a bigger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!
My grandson wanted to have jelly,
it was meant to go in his belly.
First it wouldn`t go on the spoon
then it fell off too soon.
It wobbled about and really jiggled
it shook very hard and wiggled.
It landed on the table first
but that wasn`t the worst.
On to the floor went a dollop
another landed on his lap with a wallop.
Jelly is a very tricky thing,
at least the spoon didn`t ping.
It could have ended up on the chair
or even the walls to be fair.
But no, he struggled bravely
to contain it, expression gravely
determined to win and get it down.
That was a very big frown.
Then with help it was gone
but he didn`t want another one!
