#Delectable Treasures #Handmade #Folksy.

Saturday again already. I swear the weeks go quicker and quicker. The busier we are the faster they go. I really need to slow down a bit otherwise the week will be gone in a blink. Someone on twitter said they were bored, I replied, lucky you to have that luxury. I probably wouldn`t like it, but occasionally I dream of doing nothing, just for a few hours.
Couldn`t make up my mind what to put on here today. I wondered about babies. Noooppp! Not actual babies, but a baby theme, mainly because there seem to be a lot of babies due at the minute. Couldn`t quite decide. Had a look at some bookmarked pages I`ve got, but no they wouldn`t do either. I began to wonder if I was going to get anything on here at all. So I had a look at the new listings thread, followed by the handmade goods section that starts on the front page and found some really Delectable Delights. I decided that my indecision was clearly inspired so that I could find these treasures for you. I found a nice range of items for you to browse through and if you like the look of anything in particular, then have a browse through the shop too. You could well unearth an amazing treasure.
As usual, to see a description or a larger picture, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
Have FUN and ENJOY!!!!

The other night I saw the moon,
trouble is, it`s gone too soon.
Haven`t seen it for a while,
so when I did I had to smile.
It casts that lovely silvery light
almost blue, such a wonderful sight.
As it rose over the garden
I watched all soft edges harden.
The contrast of light and dark
all black and white, so stark.
There`s something about a moon so bright
glowing against the dark sky, so white.
It makes artist want to paint and draw
a wonderful picture without a flaw.
The poets they reach for paper and pen
wanting the perfect verse again.
Something to describe the unearthly glow
that has such a hold over earths water flow.
Romantics they just stand and stare
the moon making them more aware
of how small they are compared to the sky
it makes so many of us question why.
Why are we here and what should we do
are we the intruders or the glue.
All part of the great fabric of life
regardless of whether there`s peace or strife.
To learn and grow is what we do,
at least it is for me. How about You??

New Shops #FolksyFriday

I decided to have look and see if we have many new shops on Folksy. I haven`t put new shops on here for a while, so it`s high time I did.
Yep!! had a look got some very interesting things for you. Lot`s of shiny new shops with interesting creations, what more could you want!
It`s quite adventure looking around Folksy. Not just at the new shops but lots of the established ones too have great treasures in them.
Support our British Handmade craftspeople by buying your gifts and cards here. Treat yourself too, great quality, individual pieces and less hassle. What could be better?
Oh dear!! Had to pop into the city for a couple of things and guess what? I came back with three bags full, crammed bags at that. Confession time...... Two of the bags were yet more yarn. Had to really push those into the last bit of space in the cupboard. I may soon need a bigger house to put it all in, not just the yarn but the finished products too. You could of course do me a favour by popping along to my shop and buying a few things. It would help the space situation alot and you would get a fabulous unique item all for yourself.
Okay plug over.
The worst thing about getting all this new yarn is that my head is buzzing now with new ideas, or should I say even more new ideas. I could do with more arms and more hours in the day really, to get everything done and turn all these ideas into reality. Better stop waffling now I suppose.
As usual, to see a larger picture or a description, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!!!

New shops, they deserve your time
to them I dedicate this rhyme.
It`s hard to be the new kid on the block
being invisible can come as a shock.
So I try to bring them to the light of day
so we can all see their creations and say,
I`m looking and taking your measure,
wow, I really love this new treasure.
We all were new once somewhere,
where, is neither here nor there.
What matters now is what we see,
here in these new shops from Folksy.
Me. I love to look and see
anything I might want for me.
To keep or buy as a gift
something special that gives a lift.
For a special occasion, a birthday
someone unwell, or low or an anniversary.
All the shops have gifts galore
I don`t think you`ll want for more.
Pop along to see what you can find
we`ll help, we never mind.
We`ll always go the extra mile
just so that you can smile.
Delighted with the service you receive
we hope that you will perceive
what a wonderful bunch we really are
knowing that we`ll all go far!!

My trials and tribulations #Handmade #Weebly

This blog is about the trials and tribulations of setting up a website.

I started the first one on a site that shall be nameless and it was so fiddly I gave up and deleted it.
Then I saw one mentioned on the Folksy forum, clicked on the link and thought `great, I could do that`! Hmmm.... Not that easy. I picked out a template and set to work, each session took ages, but it was getting there. So after weeks of work, a few hours here and there, I decided to add a shop. Easy right?? Well... Yes. It was easy but only if I spent a fair bit of money. Aaaagh!!
I was ready to tear my hair out.

So off I went and looked around. Then I discovered another link newly added for someone`s website on the forum. A click and that was it. Well actually not entirely. First I checked it all out to see how easy it was to use and also checked out the price when I upgraded and added a shop.
A good site, a good price and that really was it. I had found it..WEEBLY!!!

Now you have to bear in mind that at this time last year I had no idea what an URL was, never seen Facebook or Twitter or been on the internet much at all. In other words, although I am constantly learning new stuff, I am a novice still.

I started off merrily, easy to use, got on like a house on fire. Very rapidly ready for the shop. Upgraded and added it. Soon got the hang of it all and was whizzing through. Then I realised that I had a problem. Most of what I make are One of a Kinds, so I sell only one. I looked all over the place for something to add, couldn`t find anything. Frustrated and angry, with myself more than anything, I fired off an e-mail said it was rubbish and I wanted my money back.

NOT very nice of me... Not how I usually am, honest. Well... not in the last few years anyway.
They explained, very nicely and calmly, that I would need my own paypal buttons so I could regulate stock. Off I went to paypal and it all looked so complicated, I tried a few times and got frustrated and angry with myself. Another e-mail to the hapless Weebly folks. Then I went back to the buttons and looked at it again and suddenly it made sense.

Anyway to cut a long story short those folks were very calm and helpful in spite of me firing of unkind e-mails whenever I hit a problem. They offered my money back if I wasn`t happy and at one stage explained they were a small company not a big conglomerate and that was why I had to wait until the next day to get a reply.
Felt quite ashamed of myself then. Considered it and thought that a big company would probably have taken a week to get back to me. All in all they deserve a medal.
My new motto?
WEEBLY is TOPS!!!!

I tell you, if I can do it anyone can and probably without throwing tantrums too.
I did apologise and said I would do a blog once my second site went live and it was done the night before last and I published it. They deserve a bit of advertising after their patience and helpfulness.
If you are thinking of having your own website, I can`t recommend them highly enough.
As usual, to see a description or bigger picture, just click on the item to see it in the shop.
ENJOY!!

Great Green dreams went live the other night
I was so proud, it was a wonderful sight.
Uniquely Yours was first, my pride was immense
after all my work, it finally made sense.
I was sorry I had been a pain,
glad they helped again and again.
The site was great, the price was right
now it`s done I feel so light.
I did eat humble pie
nasty taste, without a lie.
I really don`t know enough
it makes it all very tough
but I`m learning really fast,
wish my ignorance was in the past.
Instead every day is a new adventure
in my still new crafty venture.
I`d like the sites to have a sale
don`t want this venture to fail.
I was far too impatient you see,
to watch the videos meant to help me.
I only read a little bit
I know, go on have a fit!
If only I`d prepared more,
after all that`s what it`s for.
To help the folk who don`t know much
to give help, advice and such.
But I did get there in the end
done from weekend to weekend.
Can`t believe it only took a week
now it`s your approval that I seek!!!

Mellow Yellow #Handmade #Folksy

It`s raining, it`s pouring, the old man is snoring,
he went to bed and bumped his head and couldn`t get up in the morning!

Seeing the rain always reminds me of that nursery rhyme. Just had to include it, I couldn`t resist.

Yesterday was grey and wet pretty much all day here in Norfolk. At first it was, great we need the rain badly, but after a while we were fed up with it. It did stop late afternoon, but contrary as always, I was saying `we need more though`.
Because of yesterdays gloom, I have decided to put some sunshine on here today. The other week I saw a thread that said `Show me your yellows` and it looked so bright and cheery that I bookmarked it. Now I`m glad I did as a bit of sunshine is just what we need now. Nice and cheery.
Looking through my shop I realised that I haven`t made anything in yellow. I`m not quite sure why that is and maybe I will have to remedy that. Not just yet though as I already have several projects on the go. Having said that I will probably see some yellow yarn and get ideas on what to do with it. I am going to try very hard not to look though.
Being a miserable day was quite good in one day, I did stay glued to the computer and got on with the new website. Got it pretty much done now, I just need a few more pictures to add and then it can go live. With any luck that should be today.
I did see my youngest grandson and we took him to the supermarket with us. He does love to walk round and help by putting things in the trolley. He is so good, never wanders off and keeps hold of my hand the majority of the time. Quite the little angel. I think they often are though with grandparents, they save all the naughtiness for home. Can`t say I mind that way of things working at all. I have to say he does look like a little cherub with his curls and dimples.
As usual, to see a description or a bigger picture, just click on the item to view it in the shop.
ENJOY!!!!

The grass was dry, had gone all brown,
it was enough to make a gardener frown.
The rain then came with a grey sky,
it was greeted with a happy sigh.
But it carried on all day long
that was too much, it was wrong.
Now, a bit of sun is what we need
and that isn`t said from greed.
We`ve just got used to sun all day
being able to go out and play.
Because it`s grey out, I`ll show you yellow,
that should make us all nice and mellow.
Now that reminds me of a song of old
a time when to wear yellow was bold.
Funny how trends change so much
sometimes I feel out of touch.
Now I`m waffling on again,
you`ll think me not quite sane.
I`m showing yellow because it`s bright
and I think it will be a wonderful sight.
It should cheer us all up a treat
you relax now and take a seat.
Enjoy this brilliant array
of what I`ve chosen to display.
Then off you go and view,
in the shops, items made for you!!
