Tempting Turquoise #FolksyFriday

Having seen a Folksy front page with some divine turquoise creations I decided I would display some turquoise too.
I`m delighted with the wonderful creations I have discovered for you, a positive treasure chest of delights to feast your eyes upon.

I am going away for the weekend from today and am looking forward to it. I shall be having a complete break from the computer as there isn`t one where I am going. I have every intention of taking my tax stuff to sort out and fingers crossed I actually do it. I also intend to finish off some things as well, some christmas items in the making.
I shall enjoy myself catching up with family, talking lot`s while I craft. What could be better.

I`m heading off on the train
never to be seen again.
That may be a little white lie
caused by a great big sigh.
I love to travel on the train
and do it again and again.
The gentle rocking motion
is as good as a sleep potion.
It makes a sound all of it`s own
that really puts me in the zone.
Watching the countryside whizzing past
sometimes makes my mind go extra fast.
I watch the many clouds racing
and my brain is steadily pacing
the words for rhymes as the view inspires
and really lights the creative fires.
There really is no middle ground
as I listen to that special sound.
Its dozing off or really wired
brain slowed down or really fired!

Early Halloween #Etsy

What shall we have today I wonder. MMmmm. I`m seeing a lot of Halloween items appearing so maybe I`ll go for an early Halloween blog today, just for a change.
I`ve found some great Halloween creations for your delectation today. Bright, colourful, fun and a bit spooky. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
I know that right now it probably seems a long way a way, but it really isn`t and it`s never too soon to get started on finding great things for gifts or parties or to dress up your home in celebration.
Yesterday I took the youngest two grandsons on the bus to the city for an amble around. The eldest saw some trainers he liked and then a camper van bag for school and the youngest wanted a transformer. Both came home very happy with their goodies having enjoyed the morning. A nice little outing before school starts again today.
I keep looking at all my receipts to be sorted so I can get my tax return done. Funny though how everything else seems so much more important and needs to be done first. Note to self... WILL do that next... maybe.

The other night I saw an orange moon
and wondered had Halloween come too soon.
Hanging low and fiery bright
it was such a strange sight.
The stars were out in a velvety sky
shining and twinkling up on high.
The other morning the mist swirled
seeming to get thicker as it whirled.
That too reminded me of Halloween
and that summer was now a has been.
Cooler winds and the odd Autumn morning
giving glorious colour as the day is dawning.
Spider webs glistening with dew
not too many yet, but a few.
Another sign that, of Autumn days
losing the warmth of a summer haze.
The seasons seem to change so fast
not as slowly as in the past.
But each season brings a gift
something that will give us a lift.
To help ease the pain of the one
that is passing and then suddenly gone!

Bright & Beautiful #Etsy

Having been at work yesterday and the brain feeling somewhat numb I was wondering whether to even do a blog for today. I was tempted to leave yesterdays in place. But I managed to make a bit of effort and have a little browse in hope of being inspired. I checked out the Etsy front page, then the new listings and suddenly decided that something bright would be just the ticket.
At the very least it might wake me up anyway. So I went searching for all things bright and beautiful... that reminds me of something... that phrase. Hmm... a saying or a song. Ahhh... that`s it! It`s a hymn I used to sing at school. Should I have revealed that much... is it still even about?
Oh dear, now it`s stuck in my head.
Anyway, I digress. So I found some beautiful, gorgeopusly bright creations that I hope you will enjoy enough to go and check out the shops.
Shan`t waffle on much today, which I know will shock you. After all I can usually waffle for England, but time is getting on and I have still got to try and do a verse of some sort.

Today I wanted to sail away
maybe for a year and a day.
Weariness was dragging me down
giving me a great big frown.
Then I saw so many brights
all such glorious sights.
They brought back my get up and go
even gave me back some mojo.
These creations are enought inspire
me to reach so much higher.
I always aim to improve
get in a better crafter groove.
Then I see a fabulous craft
and think maybe mine are daft.
So I try even harder still,
I`ll make it through force of will.
As crafters we all aim to reach higher
and hopefully become a high flyer!!

Shades of Autumn #Etsy

This was a treasury I did on Sunday for this weeks featured seller on the Crafty Folk team. For those that don`t know, a shop is randomly chosen from all those that made treasuries in the previous week for that featured seller. Then we all pick whichever item we like from the shop to build a treasury around. It can be good fun looking and deciding. I`m still hoping that one day I will be a featured shop, so I keep trying. Mind you I`ll keep doing treasuries anyway as it helps support the team.
This weeks featured seller is Kristina of NomadicKnits.
Her bio says:
I live in a secluded little forest in northern Minnesota so when I'm not out wandering through the wilderness I'm usually tangled up in yarn, knitting these knits that you see here in my shop.
Nomadicknits is inspired by my wandering tendencies. I like to create knitwear that takes one to another time or place. Shades of the forest floor
maybe of a fairy door.
Leaves turning, falling down
giving the ground a crispy gown.
The trees slowly becoming bare
a different beauty that makes you stare.
Acorns gathered, berries too
getting enough to see them through.
The creatures of the woods
have to find their goods
to store away for winters sleep
the hidden treasure troves to keep,
for when food is scarce, them alive,
so they continue to live and thrive.
Nature is such a wondrous thing,
beauty to make your heart sing.
Walking out in every season
to enjoy nature, who needs a reason?
It`s there every day and free
for everyone to enjoy you see!!
