Gorgeous Purple #Etsy

I have decided to put this treasury that I made on here, really for lack of time to find something else. I know you all love purple as much as I do, so here it is.
There are some fabulous finds here, don`t blame me if you have the urge to spend.

Spent very little time on here yesterday and today will be much the same. Yesterday I was out and about with a friend which included a lovely lunch out. Then I spent time with the grandchildren and gave them tea.
I also had a lovely visit from my sister in law and we had a catch up session. Life gets so busy at times and gets in the way of all the fun stuff.
The today I am travelling to visit unwell relatives, we haven`t seen them for a few months, so that too will be a catch up and hopefully we`ll cheer them up too.

Racing about from here to there
just no time to stop and stare.
Today though I`ll be on the train
off visiting and then back again.
Sometimes you just want to curl
up away from the hectic whirl.
The chance is so few and far between
it`s busier now than it`s ever been.
When did our lives become so manic
with so many days lived in a panic
of racing daily against the clock
like a load of sheep in a flock.
It`s time to slow down a bit
breathe, relax and just sit.

So Sweet #Etsy

This was a treasury made by Lesley of Phoebe dreams for the Craftyfolk team.
I saw it because something of mine was included and thought it was very pretty and would be lovely to put on here for you all to see. I do like to share.

I had a surprise visit yesterday from my granddaughter. In the morning I`d been having fun felting soaps and then she appeared just after midday. After a snack she decided to make bread, so we got busy with that, had to be two different ones for some reason. Then while that was rising she wanted to make a box for ideas. Then the box had to be covered after we found one, so I was up and down looking for various bits.
I decided to cover some stiff pieces of cardboard I had glued together a while back and despite there being no purple in sight my finger tips were purple once more. I was using a canvas effect paper I had printed some of my artwork on. I did eventually get two pieces covered.
Then my daughter popped in on the way back from school with the youngest two and after they`d been gone a while my 14 year old grandson turned up with a friend. Phew. What a sociable day.

Wonderful Wood #Etsy

I gave quite a bit of thought on what to show you today and decided to go for wood. It always looks fabulous and it`s great to see the innovative ways people use it for designs.
Wood has such a warmth to it, I just love it.

Yesterday I decided to become more focussed about organising my life and work. I couldn`t understand why everything was taking me so long all the time. Then a friend said it was because I had got into the habit of thinking I had plenty of time, since I was made redundant. She said she did it since retiring and I realised that she was right. When I went out to work, even though it was part time, I had to get everything done on the other days. That of course included life as well as crafting and promoting.
There`s nothing like a limited amount of time for focussing the mind onto what`s important.
So I decided I needed to get a lot more done in the time I had and much to my delight I did get done all I had planned, including felting more soap.
A very productive day.

I really like to see wood
not sure though, if I should.
We really do need our trees intact,
they store carbon inside, in fact.
Did you know that they clear,
carbon dioxide from the atmosphere?
We`ve used the wood for shelter,
else on a hot day we`d swelter.
It`s also kept us dry in the rain
saved us getting soaked again.
We make plates, utensils and bowls
in keeping with our many goals.
Many now recycle and re use
being eco friendly lot`s choose.
Helping the planet and ourselves
even recycling many old shelves.
Theirs such beauty in the wood grain
and it comes out with the right stain!!

Outstanding Owls #Etsy

I was trying to think what to have on here for a change and then realised that we hadn`t had Owls for a long time. Now a lot of people like owls, they have become quite popular in the last year or so.
So I thought I would see what I could find with owls and here we are, an Outstanding Owl collection.

Yesterday was a visit to the city to collect my grandsons present for his birthday at the weekend. While there I had coffee and then lunch later with a good friend. It took a few hours, enjoyable hours and a lot of chatting.
I do get a bit concerned about doing too much of the talking. It is possible, although I know you will find that hard to believe.

Have to say, owls are very cute
and I`ve heard they are quite a hoot.
They have a look of surprise
and are known for being very wise.
They often hunt by night
with their binocular sight.
Known as a solitary bunch
sitting with a seeming hunch
they are birds of prey
sleeping mostly by day.
Feathers made for silent flight
swooping down from a height.
Talons outstretched sharp and long
beak ready, hooked and strong.
Hunting mostly at dusk and dawn
full and ready to sleep by morn!!
